The- City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber in the 'City Hall and was called to order by Mayor James Kucera at 8:00 o' clock P, M. Tuesday _ _ April 15, 1930. Win: -roll call, the -fellaw dprmen- anawar-ed_ pr:esent_, Chamberlin Barney Perry Vor dahl Graves the minutes of April lst and 14th were read and- approved,, Imo-. Olsen, with the Midland.Implement Company, appeared before the Council in regard to the 01t le ;purehasing culverts fQx the ensuing year. It was:- moved by Vordahl and seconded by Graves. that six thirty-foot culverts be pigchased at 1.00 per f ot. The motion carried. After some discussion of stop-signs, it was moved by Barney and seconded by Berry that tka;pity purchase stop and No-U turn signs from the Midland e?en:t Company, the number being left open for the decision of the Street and A11-eg and- Police Gomittees. the motion carried. i' The City Engineer requested advice in regard to the discharge of the drain from tha Laurel Oil and Refining Company or the extension of the ?w -dwq don= water main an the City= s propat at the pumphouse After some'diseussion, t`wss,raferred- to the Water Committee, Mgyor and City Engineer. I.t ,was moved by Barney and seconded by Graves that tag books be purchased from the laarel Outlook at $90,00. Tha motion carried, 04DIN.A.NGE No. 298. Ordinance No. 298, being an ordinance regulating public chance halls with the City of Laurel, was presented for second read- }g and final passage `by the Fire and Police CQ: .tt-ee with the recommendation that it be passed and adopted. It was moved by Chamerlin and seconded by Barney that the repart of the Committee be septed and that said ordinance be placed upon its final passa The motion carried. It has moved by Barney and seconded by a.ajherlin that Ordinance No. 298 be final3.y,passed and adopted. Upon row. call, all A14,armen present voted afire aid said ordinance was declared finally passed and adopted. I A petition from dim. Beighley to construct. a five room cottage on Lots 14 and 15, Bloek 10, Bas: Laurel Bubdivision was presaiited- and read. It was moved by Barney and seconded by Chamberlin that the permit be granted. Thb"- motion carried. A petition from Mrs, Ethel PeFrance for the construction of an apartment house on Utz 359 161, 17 and 18 in Bl©ek 181, Tutting Subdivision was presenteda.and. read.. It was moveā¬i by ? V©rdahl and seconded by Perry that the permit be granted. The motion carried, a A petition from Mrs. Mary E. pert for the construction of a cottage 251 32! and a garage lo,;, X la! on the forth 5 of Lots i, 2 and 2 of 3 in Block 18, itaurel Realty Second Subdivision was pres sted and read.
