Minutes of the City Council of Laurel

The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the City Uall and was called
to carder by mayor James gueera at 8:00 ®cioek P. M. Tuesday
March -49 1930,
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present;
Chamberlin
Perry
Bro hamgh
Graves
Yerdahi
4 Porter
The minutes of February 11th, 18th and 20th were read
and aPpr oared.
The report of the Gity Treasurer was presented and read,
It was moved by Graves and seconded by Vgrdahl that the report be
?....,. approved, The motion carried, ?
The report ,of the water Commissioner was presented and
read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Barney that the i
report be approved The motion„ carried.
The report of the Chief of Police was presented: and
read., It was moved by Graves and seconded by Yordahl that the
report be approved. Theoti0n carried.

The report of the Poliee :Judge was presented and read,
it was moved by verdahl and seconded by Chamberlin that the
report be approved. The motion carried.
The bills for the month of February were referred to
the Finance Committee and after due deliberation, the Comaittee
reported back reconding the payment of the following bills;

It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Graves that the report
of the Committee be accepted and that warrants be issued in the
manner recommended by the -committee. The motion carried.
It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Graves that the bill
of Herbert Bailey for $5.8.59 City Mater Department for $6.47,
The Montaua Power Company for $94, 4, Yellowstone Garage for
$2a.O0, Billings Gas Company for $3,38, H. E. Herbert for $2,50
sad Jake Reiter for $x,.50 be paid out of the operating Fund. The
motion carried.
RESOLUTION NO* 365
r Resolution No. 365, being a resolution transferring
certain funds of the City of laurel, was presented.-and read,
a_.......' It,' was moved b,y Barney and -seconded by Chamberlin that said
resolution be 'passed and adapted.. Upon roll call, all Aldermen
preset voted aye and said resolution was declared pessed an&
adopted,
Mx Carlisle appeared before the Council and requested
poxm .:ssion. to have a wagon park&d on. First avenue east of Wold's
3tOre.fe C-I--arenoe Compton, It was moved bar. Barney, and seconded
by Chamberlin that his request be :granted. The motion carried.
After some discussion of selling fireworks, it was
moved by Vsrdahl and seconded by Barney that the City Attorney
be instructed to prepare ordinance prohibiting the sale of
fireworks, the re t on carried.
The eommttttee- appointed to investigate Mr. Hodges;
proposition for build ng a cow barn inside the City limits
reported that the Health Officer' and :embers of the School
Board saw no abjection to the construction of the barn providing
the sanitary rules were observed.,
