The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Caunoil Ohambar 'in the .City. Hall and was called to order by Mayor R. Broughton at 8:00 o'clock P. M,. Tuesday Dec- ember 15, 1931. Upon roll call the following aldermen answered present.: Bray Porter Glia k 0hamberlin Yordah { Hta lese I Hartley Graves the minutes of December let were read and approved. The license report c? the City Treasurer was presented and 'read. It was moved and seconded that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of a special committee appointed at the last meeting to report on City, expenditures was presented and read. It was moved b r, hamberlin and. seconded by Hurl, ess that the re- port of the committee be filed and the committee discharged. ..The motion carried. . Porter was excused at this time. The oommi.tted appointed at the last regular meeting to consider building an implement sherd reported recommending the ae- ooptance of the Relief Gommtttee's services for t e co truction of an implement shed. It was 'mov.ed by Vordahl a V?uiror ess that the report of the committee be adopted and that.the City proceed with the eonstrueton of a abed* Upon roll -call all aldermen present vaned no except Vordah.3 ._and Graves. 'The motion lost. This being the time .set for receiving bids for the con- struotion•of improvements in apeoial Improvement Lighting District No. 3, the Mayor instructed the clerk to open :and read all bids submitted. The bids submitted were as fellows; The Montana Power ' 0ompany. 443.60 Laurel Bleatrie Company $546.22 i After some discussion it was moved by Hartley and seconded by Click that the contract be awarded to the Montana Power Company at $443.€0. The mention carried. it was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hurless that the City Clerk be authorized to return-the certified creek of 54.62 to the laurel Electric Shop. The motion carried. Mayor Broughton received' a phone call and reported that it would be necessary for him to leave the meeting. Thereupon Graves, president of the council, took the chair and p;elided for the. rest of the meeting. { After some further discussion of wages and salaries paid 1 by the City, it was Bled by H less and seconded byr Hartley that wages . s'e?laries remain the same . -- .Upon roll' call 411 aldermen present voted aye.
