December 1 ,1931;
The.City Council of the Oita of Laurel met in regular;.
session in the Council Chamber in the City gall and was called to
order by Mayor B Broughton at 8:00. o• clock P, M. Tuesday December
1, 19,51.
Upon roll call the following aldermen answered present:

The minutes of November 17th were read and approved.
Mr. Harris and Mr. Corwin, representing the Yellowstone
>? Bazk, appeared before the City Council, in Tigard t.o Yellowstone County
bonds to secure deposits in the Yellowstone Bank of Laurel. The Fi??
Dance committee reported baDk that the question of bands.should be
decided by the whole council instead of the committee. It was moved
by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that the report of the committee be
accepted. The motion carried.
Ater some discussion, it was moved by Verdahl and seconded
by Click that the Custodian's receipt Do. 24860 from the First National
Bank of Minneapolis for $20,000.00 of Yellowstone County bonds be ap-
proved as soon as the woad "City Council" had been substituted for
"Commissioners". The motion` carried.
It was - moved by Vordahl and seconded by Bray that the City
Council reconsider the question of requiring only Government bonds in
banks at the regular meeting of November 3, 1932.
The report of the City Treasurer for the month of October
along with the correction and notation regarding the closing of goantze
Brothers was presented and read. It has moved by Hartley and seconded
by Graves that the report be approved. The motion carried.
T.he report of the City Treasurer for the month of November
was presented and read. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Porter
that the report be approved as read. The motion carried..
The report of - tbeehief of Police for the month of November
was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Bray
that the report be approved as read. The motion carried
The report of the Police Judge- for the month of November
was presented; and. read. it was mowed by Harless and seconded by Graves
that the report be approved as read. The motion carried.
The report of the Mater o.mm ssioner for the month ,cif October
was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hurless
that the report be approved as read. The motion carried.
The bills for the month of lovember were referred to the
Finance Committee and after due deliberation, the Committee reported
back recommending the payment of the following bills:

It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Click that the report of the
gommittee- be accepted and. that warrants be issued in the manner rep:
ommended by the committee. The motion oaxried.
A rearrest for a Coal Dealers license by Geo. W, 3 th was
presented and read. It was moved by Graves and seconded by Ohamberlin
that the license be seated. The motion carried.
A request for license to operate a garage by t:he Moore Motor
Comfy was presented and read. It was moved by Hurless and- seconded
by Graves that the license be granted. The motion oars .ed.
A bond in the aaoant of $5W- ezeented by the Un.3te_d States
Fidelity 8cxay Company for R. paitz, Police Jbt, 'w presented
and read.. It was moved I? ..f:I c3k a seconded by Hu iesa that the baud
.be approved. The motive' xri.ed.
Aar application to pla" Christmas trees alion.g " sin Street and
First Avenue was I presented and read. -1t was =Ved by HArless and second-
ed by Bray that the permit be granted. The motion carred.
The Oity Clerk was instructed to notify Bergey to strap
the snow and ice from falling from his building, Tie Merchants Hotel,
on the sidewalk.
After some : dis.eUsai.on -in re ad to ages paid, it was moved
by Yo rdahl and seeomted by 011V tbat the 1470r .appoint a c?ittee
to investigoe and report the ty a en its es. Thereupon the ?apar
appointed V'o`xdahl, Graves and Ciift.
Mrj ,Price reported that the Relief Committed would ,be in a
position to furnis-h so aze ±*ee labor to the City of Laurel for "madel;
work and stated. that the 00'mmittee` preferred to pay Wages t'66.4 dole
out money, and sc $ested the 'Cfty Qo czi3 oonsidex ` the implement shed
'which has been under consideration for some time. Thare,%pon the gsyQr
appointed the 'same eammittee, Vordah1,, Graves and Click, to investigate
and 'report back at . fie next regular meeting.
