September 15, 1931.
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
.session in the Council Cbp?mbers . in the City Hall and was called
to order by Geo. Graves, President of the Council, at 8:00
o'clock P. M:,' , .September 15, 19319

Upon roll. o_a11 the fallowing alderman answered present:
Bray
Chamberlin
Click
Vox dahl
Furless
Hartley
The minutes of September let were read and approved.
Mr. Newton appeared before the City Council in regard
to milk being delivered. within the city= limitsawith at high bac-
terial content. After some discussion, the Health Officer was
called in. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Vordahl that
the Health. Officer notify Air. `Sparks to discontinue delivering
1` ilk -within the City or reduce- the bacterial content below the
maximum allowed in the ordinance. The motion carried.
ORD1111WGE -NO. 311.
An Ordinance repealing ae-otion 210, of Article 3, of
Chaptex 4, of Ordinance No. 22$, relating to soft drin,.was pre-
sented fol final passage --and--a?pr.,a_val. It was moved by Vordahl
and seconded by Bray that said ordinance be finally passed and
approved, Upon roll ca 11, all Aldermen present voted aye and said
ordinance was declared finally passed aiad approved.
ORDIRANCE _ Q. 312.
An Ordinance amendding'aec.tion 212 of Article 3, of Chap.-
ter 4, of Ordinance No. 228, relating to soft drinks was presented
for final passage and approval. It was `moved by Chamberlin and
g.e;cohdpd by Hartley that said ordinance be finally passed and ap-
proved. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present, voted aye and said
ordinance was declared finally passed and approved.
ORDINANCE No . 3 3 .
An Ordinance requiring a license for hotels and rooming
houses, providing for application for a license, poliee inspec-
tion, revocation of rooming hanee and hotel licenses, fixing the
amount of license fee, prescribing a penalty for violation of the
ordinance, and repealing all ordinances in conflict therewith was 1
presented for final passage and approval. It was moved by Hartley
and seconded by Click that said ordinance be finally passed and
approved. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said
ordinance was declared finally passed and approved.
Mr. Olick called the City Council's attention that no {
change had been made in the price of card tables and suggested that
,
the Council consider the matter.

Dr., Broughton arrived and presided during the remainder
of the meeting.

A Custodian's Receipt in the amount of Fifteen Thousand
Dollars to secure deposites in the Midland National Bank in Billings,
from the Federal. Reserve Bank in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was pre-
sented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Click that
the bond be approved as soon as the woxd' Oommissionexs' be elimin-
ated and the "City Council" substituted in the wording of the bond.
The motion carried.
Bond of Five Thousand Dollars, executed by the Maryland
Casualty Company for T. A. Rigney, Water Commissioner, Clerk and
City Engineer was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and

The,-Water Commissionex'swreport for the month of duly was
presented aand read. It was moved by Graves .and seconded bg Hurlass
that the report be approved. The motion carried.
The Water Commissioners annual report was ,,presented and
read.It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Hurless that the
report be approved. The motion carried.
A request to eonstruct a frame garage on lots land 2;
Block 8, Laurel Realty Subdivision, from Helen Anderson was pre-,
rented and read. It was moved by Vor-hl and seconded by Bray that
the permit-be graxjtgd. The 'motion carried.
A request for a permit to construct a modern frame dwel-
ling on lots 17 and 18, Block 14, Nutting Subdiv s'iQn, by Theo
Birkland was presented and read.- It was moved by Hartley and see
onded by Huriess that the permit be.granted. The motion carried..
A request far, a permit to construct a modern dwelling
on lusts 89 9 and 10, Block 30, Allard Subdivision, by B. C. Speare,
-was presented and rodd. It was moved by Ghamberlin and seconded
by Bray. that the permit be granted. The motion carried.
The Water Commissioner presented a meter that had been
installed in the propert Qf -.an Dais, which showed signs of be-
ing tampered with, and a ated that Lais had only paid fifty-six ,
cent; in excess of the mi)aimnm during the irrigating season. After
some discussion, it was moved and seconded that Lsis be forced to
pay the flat rate for irrigation purposes. The motion earried..
The matter of more police protection was discussed.
It was moved by Click and seconded by Chamberlin that
we do now adjourn. The motion carried.
