The: City Council` of the City of ?auxel met in special session
in the Council Chambers in the City Hall IU,J,?allow bills and consider a
budget for the ensuing year, and was called to order by.Geo. Graves,
President of the Council, at 8:00 P. M, Tuesday, Jude V, 1931
Upon roll call the following alder men answered present:

Mr:. 0. R. Wycoff, representing the General Paint Corporation
of Spotane, ' Washington, appeared to explain in detail the contents of
his :letter of June lath, in regard to painting the grater t ank.
M Mayor R. Broughton arrive d and presided for the rest of the
meeting. -
The bills for the month of June were re-fexred to the Finance
Committee and after due deliberatio n the committee reporte d back recom-
mending the payment of the follo?7 ng bills

It was moved by Graves and seconded by Ghamberlin that the
bill of McKesson-Midwest Drug mpany for $7.84, American LaEranoe Co.
for $101,45, Montana Power Co. for $9.74, Emily Shaffer- for 48-.aQ,
HeTbeztx-=Bailey for $16.95, Joe Nicholas for $5.00, Wilbur B. Wiggins for
$4.06, Laurel Trading Co. for $20.00 T. R. Holmes Lbr. Go. for
Goan otor Company for $37.90, City Water Department for $501.00,and
C. W. Laird for $11.10 be paid out of the Operating Fund. The motion
carried.

L,Ir. Hartley reported a bad p*toe of wood sidewalk on Wyoming 1
Avenue in front of Lot 16, Block 13, Laurel Realty Second Subdivision.
It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Bray that the Street Commissioner,
be instructed to have it removed from the street immediately. The motion
carried. The street and alley committee and City Engineer were instructed
to inspect all uther-wood sidewalks before the next meeting: i

Mayor Broughton appointed T. J. Click as a member of the stand-
ing committees of street and alley, FLtie and Bolice and parks.
Mayor Broughton reported that Mr. Mercer had requested that the
City Ordinance be changed limiting the speed of trains to twenty-five
miles at First Avenue and elimination of restriction on the Fifth Avenue
crossing. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Hurlers that his re-
quest be granted. The motion carried. The Clerk was. instructed to so
notify mi. Mercer, and the City Attorney was instructed to prepare an j
ordinance ammending the speed of trains through the City of Laurel.
