HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Minutes 04.21.1931I The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Ohambere_in the City Hall and w4s called to order by Mayor James Kucera at 8:00 o'clock P. M. luesday .ipril 21 1931. Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present: Bray Barney Vordahi Perry Hartley Graves The minutes of April Yth and 13th were read and approved. A contract for the purchase of <a gravel,pit fxom E.`K. Wright was presented and "read in which he reserved 5,000 cubic yards of gravel. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Perry that the' contract be approved. The motion carried. An application for plumbers 11--aense by R. J. Harris' was presented and read. It was moved by Barney and seconded .by Bray that the request be grantedand the City Treasurer be instructed to issue license. The motion carried. RESOLUTION NO. 386. Resolution No. 3869 being a resolution prescribing the form denomination and rate of interest of bonds' of Spacial Improve- ment Parking District Na.1 and providing for the time of payment and redemption of said bonds, was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Bray that said resolution be passed and adopted. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolution was declared passed and adopted. ORDII4-AI1 CE 110. 307. Ordinance No. 507, being an ordinance creating fund to be known as "Fund of Special Improvement Parking District Uo. 1 of the City of Laurel," was presented and read'. 'Aftex. some did- cussion, it was referred to"the Finance Committee and after due deliberation, the committee reported bacck recommending its. immed- iate passage. , It as moved by Vardshl and seconded by `Hartley that the report of the Committee be adopted and that unanimous consent and vote of the Cbun.cil-be had to place Ordinance No. 307 upon its immediate passage. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye. It was moved by Perry and seconded by Graves that, said Ordinance No, 307 be passed and adopted. Upon roll ea.ll, all Aldermen present voted aye and said ordinance was declared passed and 'adopted. An application, for the construction of a garage, from W. B. Altimus on hots 3 and 4, Block 12., Nutting Zubdivision, was presented and read. It was moved by'Barney and seconded by Hartley that the ' permit be : granted. The motion carried. A number of business men from Main Street appeared: before the Council petitioning the graveling and oiling of that strip of Main Street, between the pavement and the sidewalk. Mr a. ?. Wold acted as spokesman for the 'committee. ':. h1r. W. E. Forter arrived and participated in the further deliberations of the City Council. After a lengthy discussion, arrangements were made for a luncheon at the Merchants, Hotel at noon April. 22nd for the City I Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Laurel, Montana, -ipr i l 21, 1931, officials to mebt with the committee appointed by Mr. Wold. Mr mold named Stauffer, Stewart, Smith, Reaxdon, Kass t Saunders, Morris 91 Bert Sherrow, ;Kraft, Terrett, Roysdon, Norris and McCauley and stated that he would endeavor to get ethers to attend. The Mayor assured the committee that he, part of the City Council and City officers would be present.
