The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called' to order by Mayor James guc$ra at 8;00 o' clock P. M. Tuesday February 17, 1931. Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present: Barney Chamber lin Vor Bahl Perry Graves I Hartley The resignation of Paul Brohaagh as Alderman from the First Ward. was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and 'seconded by Hartley that his resignation be accepted. The motion carried. The Ilsyor stated that nominations for Aldermab for the First hard mould be in order. Thereppon, Barney nominated Guy :R. `Brays It was moved lk7 Perry and seconded by Hartley that nominations be closed. RheE.ma_ti--` varried. It was, moved by Barney and seconded by Graves that Guy.E. Bray be elected Alderman from the First Ward to fill the unexpired term of Paul BTOaugh Upon roll call,, all Aldermen present voted aye and Guy E. Bray was declared elected, Thereupon, Mr. Bray took the oath of office and participated in the farther deliberations of the City Council. It was moved by Vovdahl and seconded by Barney that the, mat. ter of considering a track be deferred to a later meeting. The motion carried. Mr. W. C_. Laprath appeared before the Gity Gounci.l in regard to tapping on to the water. main north of the matting "Addition. The Mayor referred the matter to the Water Committee and regt&6ted a re- port at the next regular meeting. The Mayor appointed Guy E. Brag as a member of the Sewer Committee and the Park Committee. Mr. B. L. Price, general chairman of the Park Committee, appeared before the City Council and produced deeds to the City of Laurel of certain pieces of property for the purpose of 'lark and Playgrounds. A deed for Lots 1 to 4, inclusive, 9 and 10 and 11 to 14, inclusive, all in Block 36, Allard Subdivision and Lois 5 to 141 inclusive 17 and 18, and 21 and 22 , all in Block 37, Allard Sub- division 11 Irom the American Legion Post No. 123 to the City of Laurel. It was moved by Barney and seconded by Hartley that the above lots be aeo_epted by the city of Laure'. The motion carried.` A deed from Wm. BtIghley and wife for all of Block 5,o Laurel Realty Subdivision to the Gity of Laurel. It was moved by Perry and seconded by Chamberlin that the, lots be. aceppted by the City of Laurel. The motion carried. A deed from 4era Sturm for lots 11 to-15, inclusive, in Block 16, Laurel Raalty Seeond_Sabclivision to the Gity _of Laurel, It. was moved by Qordahl and seconded by Perry that they be accepted The motion carried. It was moved by vordahl and seconded by Porter that the lark Committee be given a vote of thanks and appreciation for their efforts and that they be requested to continue on in their labors for a suit- able park-and playground facilities. The motion carried. It was moved by Yordahl and seconded by Perry that 'sue d© nom adjourn until February 24th, 1931, at 8:00 o'clock P. M. T'he' motion carried. Ci erJ . Approved this day of , 1931.
