Council of Laurel Laurel, Montana, January 6, 19310 The Oity Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called to order by Mayor James Ku:cera 8:00 o' clock 11, -M. Tuesday January 6 1931 Upon roll call, the following Aldermen .ansvered present; Barney Chamberlin Perry Vordahl Graves The minutes -of December 1 th, 19th and 30th, 1930, 'Were` read and approved. Mr. B. M. Harris, president of the, Yellowstone .Banc appeared before the City Council and requested the Council to ape prove 420rOOO,00 worth of ` Refunding Bonds of Yellowstone County, Montana, in lieu of like Iamount of United States Treasury Notes. It was moved by Graves and seconded by Chamberlin that the so"Curd ty � offered Would be oppr-owed upon proper presentation of Trust J.eeeip . The motion carried. It was moved by Barney and seconded. by Graves that the City Treasurer be notified that this form of security would. he satisfactory to the City Council. The motion carried, J . S. Brohaugh and lea Sudeith appeared before the Council and reported some infractions of the wiring ordinance and`ranted to' know if the Council was willing to back up the ordinance. They were notified existing ordinances would be observed. The Clerk was instructed to notify permit holders to have ✓`` inspection done The report of the City Treasurer 'was presented and read, It was roved by Vordah3 and seconded. by Barney that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the Police Judge was. presented and read. It was moved by I[ordahl and seconded by Barney that the Treport be. approved. The, motion carried. The report of the Chief of lolice was presented' and :read, . It was moved by Barney and seconded by perry that the report be approved. The ,motion carried. The report of the Water Commissioner was present d, -and reed. It was moved by Perry and seconded by Chamberlin that the report be read. The motion carried. The bills unpaid for the month of December , 1930., were referred to the Finance Committee 4nd after due deliberation, :.the° Committee reported back recommending the payment of the. fo11.Q `ing bills Y. Broughton 3,04,00' It was moved by ferry and seconded by Craves that the report of ,the.' Committee be accepted and that w4rrants be issued in the Ramer recommended by the Committee. The motion carried. It was moved by Berry and se conded by Graves that the bill of the M. S. T. & T. Compan.y, for $4.00 and her`kert Bailey for $11.00 be paid out of the operating Fund. The motion carried. The City engineer reported that he had gone over the : conditions at the river with Mr. Gri*e, Engineer of the -Natter De- partment of the Northern Pacific Hailay and reported that Mr. f` G;ire would be willing to 'recommend that the Northern Pacific assist in building a dike`_if the City Caunoll so desired. Perry, president of the.'Council, took the chair. i Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Laurel, Montana, January 6 1931. .r After some discussion about the water situation and con- tract 'with the Laurel Gil and Refining Company, it was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Barney that the city .attorney be < requested to go to Helena with the City :engineer, providing, the Laurel Coil and Refining Company paid the Mxpenses of the City Engineer.
