The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Cpuncil chamber in the City Hall and was called to
order bLyRels VoXdahl, President of the Council, at 8!00 o' cloa k
P. V, September` 20, 1932.
Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present;
Bray
Chamberlin
Click
Hurlesa
Dull
Hartley

Mr. Gardner appeared before the City Council and request=

Mayor Broughton arrived at this time and presided during
the further' deliberations of the Council.
A req t for license from Sam coulter to operate an tail
Station was pre ented Ad read. It was moved by vordahl and sect"nd-
ed by D411 that 'his request be "granted and that the City Treasurer
be authorized to issue license. The motion carried.
A request from the Davey motor ,00;Apaxay for license to
operate a garage was presented and read. It, was moved by (311

and seconded by Hartley that' the request be granted and that, the O t'
Treasurer be authorized to issue license. The motion earried:
A reclaest from A. M. Pippenger for lr�* to operate a

A request from Mrs, Nellie Henry for license too operate a
hotel was presented and read'. It was moved by vordahl and secs d,, by
Hartley that her request-be denied. The motion carred.
A letter from Mr. H. A. Barney, in regard to his Auto WrQk-
ing Shop, was presented and read. was -moved by Vor;dahl and secs �r
ed" by Doll that he be requested t� ear before the Cityotcil
regard to his license. The motion darried,

made in the ,surcharge` for out b consumers, which had been,.re"

Montana Power Company. be J-patruoted, to straighten the ornamental
lamp acst on Pennsylvania Avenue The motion carried.

First Avenue and Third Street.
After some discussion of, waste water from the north side L of
town, it was moved by Hartley and se eded .by D:ml that culverts be
purchased for r irat Se, ,. HlgY t ,: deae�.and Juniper avenues and.

The eater Commissioner was instructed to require deposit
for the installation of service lines in the future.
It was moored b9 liartley' and seconded by Dull that the Uity
attorney draft a more suitable traffic ordinance :if the egistin ' ord-
inance appeared to be ineffective. The motion oerried.
It was moored by Vordahl and seconded by,Pull that the .Chief
of Police notify truck drivers that the practice of backing; up to the
sidewalk on *!sin Streett would not be tolerated. The motion carried.
