The City. Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber in the city Hall acid was called
to order by Mayor E. Broughton at 8:00 oT clock P. Tuesday
June 7, 1932.
Upon roll call the following Aldermen answered present;
Bray
Porter
t;liek
Chamberlin
Vordahl
Hatless
Hartley
Dulll
The minutes of May 17th were read and approved.

'rr. Carlson appeared before the Council in regard to hav-
ing the side lights on Lot 1, Block 3, East Laurel Subdivision, die-
continued,. it was moved` by Vordaahl and seconded by Hartley that the
matter be referred to the standing eomittee on light and atsr,. The
motion carried.
Mr.. Hadges, appeared before the City Council in regard to
a drain ditch in the northeast corner of the _Oit.Y• The mayor refer- I
red the matter to the Street and Alley Committee
The report of the Police judge was presented and read,--,
It -as moved by Vordahl and .. onded .:by Bartley that the report be
approved. The, motion carried.
The report of the City Treasurer was presented and read.
It was moved by `Chamberlin a,n.d seconded by Click that the report be
approved. The motion carried.
The report of the Chief of Police was presented and read..
It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by D ll that the report be
approved. The ' motion tarried.
The report; of the Health Officer was presented and read.
It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that the report be
approved. The motion curried. {

The bills for the month of Yay were referred to the Pin-
ante Committee and after dv.e deliberation the . committee reported

It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Porter that the report of
the Committees 1a accepted and the warrants be issued in the manner
recommende_d._.by. t he Committee. The motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 316
Ordinance No. 316, being an ordinance creating fund to be
known' as the fund of Special Improvement Lighting District uo. 3
Oonstruct'°Qf the City of Laurel, Montana, was presented- and read.
It was moved by Vor'dahl and seconded by Hartley that Ordinance Eq.
336 be passed and adopted. Upon roll cull all Aldermen present
voted ape and said ordinance No. 316 was declared passed and adopted.
REaOtB ION N0. 404.
Resolution No_, 404, being a resolution prescribing the
form, denomination, rate of interest of bonds:- i.n 4peci:al Improvement
Lighting District No. 3, and providing for the tide of payment and
redgmption -of said bonds was presented and read. It was moved , bar
Vo.rdahl and seconded by Hartley that said Resolution Na.. 404 be
passed and adopted. Upon. roll call all. Aldermen present voted aye
and said Resolution No. 404 was declared passed and adopted.
Estimate No. I and Final for Special Improvement Light-
ing District No. 3 in the amount of $50o 00 was presented and read.
It was mowed by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that the Lj-ayor and
City Clerk be authorized to issue bonds in the amount of $50040,0
upon the payment of $66.4€3 by the Montana Power Co. for engineer-I g
fees and incidental expenses. The motion carried.
The Clerk reported that 5 bonds would cost 25.00 and a
hundred bonds would cost $61.00. After some discussion, it was
moved by Hartley and seconded: by Vordahl that the Clerk be in-
structed to purchase 5 bonds.only. The motion carried.
Dr, Broughton received a, call and Nels Vordahl, president
of the Council, presided during the remainder of the meeting.
TheFire Committee, which had been requested to report on
the sale of the old hoot-and-ladder cart, reported that the Poly-,
t6ahnIc Institute was willing to pay $25.00 for it. It was moved
by 13urles8 and seconded by Dul,1 that their offer be accepted., The J
motion carried.
After some discussion regarding the c3hel ical hose and
nozzle, it was moved by Vord.ahl anal eeconded by Porter that new. hose
and nozzle be purchased. The motion carried,

A bill for R, W. Hageter in the amount of $11470, and a
bill for Hageter and Reardon in the amount ,of $10.51 was referred
to the City Attorney.
An application for license from G. F. Berrie to operate
a Meat Market was presented and read. It was. moved by Chamberlin
and seconded by Hurless that his request be granted and the City
Treasurer authorized to issue license. The motion carried.
