The City Council of the City of Law el met in regular session in the Council Chamber and was called to order by Mayor B. Broughton at 8:00 o'clock P. M. January 19, 1932. Eton roll call, the following Aldermen answered present: Bray Porter Click Chamberlin Hurless • Vordahl Hartley The minutes of January 5 were read and approved. The license report of the City Treasurer was;.:presented and read. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Porter that the report be approved. The motion carried. A bond in the amount of ?00 for Mrs. Jessie A. Hur, zler, signed by Joseph Gehrett and B. M. Harris, to operate the Hurzier Hotel was presented and read. It was moved by Hartley and'seeoad- ed Vordahl that the bond be approved and the City Treasurer author- ized to issue the license. The motion curried. A bond in the amount of $600 for MX8. Theresa Koller, signed by John G. Eisenman and Mike Beslanowitoh, to-operate the Koller Booms, a rooming house, was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that the bond be approved and the City Treasurer be authorized to issue the license. :...The motion catried. A request for license from Joe Belile to operate auction sales was presented and read. It was moved by Bray and seconded by Porter that the request be granted and the City Treasurer be authorized to issue the license. The, motion carried. The Chief of Police was instructed to require the auction- eer to furnish a copy of merchandise sold in auction sales. Custodian's Receipt No. 24860 covering Yellowstone County Bonds in the amount of $20,000 to secure the City deposits in the Yellowstone Bank was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hurless that security be approved and that the Yellowstone Bank of Laurel be and the same is hereby designated as a depository of City funds during the term of the City Treasurer ending. April 30, 1933. The motion carried. Custodian's Receipt No. 0123 covering Treasurery Bands in the amount of $15,000 and Custodian's Receipt Hu . 176 covering Tr:easurery Bonds in the amount of 5,000.to secure the City de- posits in the Midland pat ional Bank of Billings was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Porter that the security be approved and that the Midland National Bank of Billings be and the same is hereby designated as a depository of City funds during the term of the City Treasurer ending April 30, 1935. The motion carried. Frank Wright appeared before the City Council and stated that he would like to have a policeman on duty at his place during each dance as he ` had had in the past, the expense of which was to be born by him. He stated that he had made arrangements with Sam Freund if there were no objections from the Mayor and City Council. Thereupon the Mayor appointed Sam Freund as Special Police. It was ? moved b Vordahl and seconded b Hartle that the appointment of Sam Freund be approved. The motion carried. Minutes of the City CQtt'ncil of Laurel The City_ Engineer was instructed to remove the delapi, dated baxbwire fence ;about town with the labor furnished by the Belief Committee. It was moved by Huxlees and seconded by Porter that we do now adjourn. The-motion carried. r f i
