An application by Gardner 3ros. for a license to operate two bowling alleys and two card tables was presented and read. It was moved by Bray and seconded by leardon that the rerluest be granted and that the City Treasurer be authorized to issue license. The motion carried. ijx. =T. pry. jacHonald appeared before the City Council in regard to making application for an airport. The 1,1ayor explained that he had received encouragement for the construction of an air- port and stated that he had named Ir. MacDonald as a cormittee of one to see what could be done in that direction. After some dis- cussion, it gas moved by Vordahl and seconded by null that the City mare application as soon as a suitable field could be obtained fOt",. a suitable price. The motion carried:.. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hull that a com- mittee be appointed to serve with a committee from the uomm.ereial_. Club on the selection of an airport field. The motion carried. Thereupon the Mayor appointed Vordahl, Hull and Law to serve with h1i. MacDonald and to cooperate with the Commercial G-lub. The report of the Chief of police for the month of Nov- ember wqs presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hull that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the Police Judge for the month of November was presented and read. It was moved by Dull and seconded by Lava that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the Health Officer for the month of Nov- ember was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hull that the report be approved. The motion carried. A_ ,,petition from property owners and users of the road be- tween sections 15 and 161 28., R.24L., was presented and re4d. After some discussion, it was moved by Dull and seconded by Law that the application be referred to the County Commissioners. The bills for the month of November were referred to the finance Committee and after due deliberation the Committee reported back recommeb.ding the payment of the following bills; Geo. G. The motion carried. The Com ittee recommended that the bills of M. J. Harrisdn, Mrs. H. G. Bradley and H. G. Bradley be denied.. it was moved by Vordahl and 'seconded by Dull that the report of the Committee be adopted and payment of the claims denied. The motion carried.' An application by-Mrs. 0. B. Jackson for a license to operate a barber shop was presented and read. It. was moved. by Vordahl and seconded by Dull that the request be granted and that the City Treasurer be authorized to issue license. The motion carried. A letter from Mr. C. 0. Larson requesting refund on his license was presented and read. It was moved'by Dull and seconded by Vordahl that the money paid be refunded. The motion carried. I A contract with J. J, and S. lA. Thornton was presented- and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Bull that the contract be approved. The motion carried. A contract with J. F. Lindauuer was presented and read. I twas moved by Law and seconded by Dull the contract be ap- proved. y _ p- proved. The motion carried. This being the time set for receiving bids on-cast iron pipe the-clerk was instructed to open and read all 'bids submitted. The bids were as follows: Amexican Cast Iron Pipe. Thereupon the Mayor referred the matter to the Water Committee. After dae deliberation the Committee reported back recommending the puxchase of one car load and necessary specials from the Pacific Staves Cast Iron Pipe Company and two gate valves and one hydrentt- from the Rensselaer VAlve Co. It waa-moved by Law, and seconded by Dull that the report of the Committee be accepted and that the purchases be made. The motion carried. It was moved and seconded that- we do now adjourn.
