- -------------- I Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Laurel, Montana, April 4;,1933. The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber and was called to order by mayor R. Broughton at 8:00 o!clock P. M. April 4, 1933. Upon roll call the following Aldermen answered, present: The minutes Of arch 21st were read and held over for a e?rrec?ion. The report of the City T reasurer for the month of March was presented and read. It was mo ved by Vordahl and seconded by Glick that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the Chief of police was presented and read. It was moved by Hartley and second ed by Click that the report be approved.. The motion carried. The report of the Police judge was presented and read. It was moved by Bull and seconded by Chamberlin that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the City C lem for the month of February was presented and read. It was mo ved by Vordahl and seconded by Dull that the report be approved. The motion carried. Power Go. 77.50 The Montana Power Qo. 123.00 It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Slid that the report of the Committee be accepted and that warrants be issued in the man- ner recommended by the Committee. The motion carried. An application from the 1,uthern Church for a permit to reroof their; church was presented and read. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Dull that the permit be granted. The motion carried. An application for a permit to reroof the Occident Elevator was presented and read. A=fter some discussion, it was' moved by Hartley and seconded by Hurless that the permit be granted for the Luthe-rn Church and the Occident Elevator Company providing fire proof material be used. The motion carried. An application by Harry Dull for a permit to build a porch and a garage on his property on Locust Street was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Glick that the permit be grant- ed. The motion carried. After further discussion of fire hazards, it was moved by _ Hartley and seconded by Dull that the City Clerk be instructed to notify the 0. T. Mold Farm Machinery Company to remove two box cars, now located on the 1.. P. Hight-of-way near their implement building, to be moved out of the fire district. The motion carried. It was moved by Dull and seconded by Porter that the Fire Marshall be requested to meet with the Fire Committee. The motion carried. i i A report of expense incurred by mrs. Fthel DeFra4ae for instal- lation of water main and a fire hydrant on Cottonwood _,kvenne .,1as present- j ed and read. It -was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that the items lists be spread on the minutes and referred to the Water Co mittee 1 for a-o-croval.- The motion carried. After some discussion of water rates, it was moored by pull v and seconded by Vordahi that the Mayor appoint a committee to re::c'ommend; the rate changes. The motion carried. Therenpon the mayor named the ate-r Committee to serve on that committee. It was moved by Brag and seconded by Click that the Committee -Fire & Police study the existing license fees.in order that a more egtkitab1o distribution of charge be had. The motion carried. 1 It was :moved by Hartley and seconded by Dull that the Kayay j appoint a committee to serve with the Mayor and City Attorney to draft new-`heir' ordinances. The mo-ti©n carried.
