The City Council of the Gity of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall and was called
to order by Mayor Roscoe Broughton at 81-1 00 O'clock P. Ids Tuesday
February 7. 1933.

The report of the City Treasurer for the month Of
r January was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and
seconded by Hartley that the report be approved. The motion
carried.
After some discussion regarding the money on hand,
it was moved by Bray and seconded by Hartley that the Mayor
appoint a committee from the Council to serve with the Mayor,
City Attorney and City Treasurer to purchase outstanding 'bonds
for not more than par and accrued interest as the circumstances
would permit. The motion carried.
The report of the Chief of Police was presented and
read. It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Click that the
report be approved. The motion carried. 1

The report of the Health Officer was presented and read.
It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Click that the report be
approved. The motion carried.
An application for a permit to remodel the old Giti.zens
National Bank building by Mrs. Lucia Cornelia was presented and
read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Click that the
permit be granted. The motion carried.
A letter from Mt. Lerrig, assistant to the Chief Engineer
of the Northern Pacific Railway, in regard to the drainage in the
west part of town was presented and read. After some discussion,
it was moved by Click and seconded' by Brag that the City accept
the proposition as outlined by the Northern Pacific. The motion:
carried.
It was moved by Porter and seconded by Vordahl that the
City Engineer present an,estimate on the cost of construction of
bridges by the next regular meeting. The motion carried.
A letter from Mr. A. J. Eamon was ordered tabled.
The=.,.bills for the month of January were referred to
the Finance Committee and after due deliberation, the committee
reported back recommending the payment of the following bills; l
