January 17, 1933.
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session In the .Council Chambers in the City Ball and was called
to order by Nele Voxdahl, President of the :Council, at 8;00
O'clock P. 14. January 17', 1933.
Upon roll call the fallowing Aldermen answered present,
Bray
Porter
Click
Chamberlin
Hurless
Dull
Hartley
The minutes of January 3rd were read and approved.
B. Broughton appeared and presided.
Custodian's Receipt No. 0164, executed by the Federal Res-
erve Bang of Helena, covering 45,000. of Treasurery ]Bonds held as
security for deposits in the Midland. National Bank' of Billings was
presented for quarterly approval. It was moved by Hartley and sec-
onded by Chamberlin that the security be approved. The motion
carried.
Custodian's Rece.i-os No. 0198, executed by the Federal Res-
erve Bank of Selena, povexing 45,000. of Liberty Loan Bonds held as
security for deposits in the llidlandNational Bank of Billings was
presented for auarterly appxaval. It was moved by Hartley and sec-
onded by Click that the security be approved. The motion carried.
Custodian's Receipt No.24860, executed by The First Nation-
al Bank of Minneapolis, Minnesota, covering $20,000. Yellowstone
County Bonds held as security for deposits in the Yellowstone Bank
of Laurel was presented for quarterly approval. It was moved by
Dull and seconded by Chamberlin that the security be approved. The
motion carried.
- R. Broughton received a call and 11r. vordahl, pies. of the
Council., took the chair.
After some discussion of the excess cash on hand and the
balance du.e from the County Treasurer, the City Attorney and City
Treasurer were instructed to see if any general obligation bonds
could be purchased.
An application for license by L. 11. Hasty to operate the
Palace Eats was presented and read. It was moved by Bray and second-
ed by Huxleas that his application be granted and that the City Treas-
urer be 4uthorlsed to issue license upon payment of the fee. The
motion carried.
A. communa.oation. from.<.,B. Kesselheim, Inc. in which they of-
fered to sell Bond loo. 15 of Spec. Imp. Bien. No. 48 fox 4137`.31-was
presented and read. The Treasurer reported that the bond was `next in
order of payment and that that was the balance in the fund at ptesent.
It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Dull that the City Treasurer
be authorized to purchase the above bond for the anount specified.
The motion carried.
A communication from v. J. Hermel in which he offered to
Sell Bond No. 6 of Spec. Imp. Diet. No. 29 for $91.65 was presented
and read. The Txeasurer reported that the bond was next in order of
payment and that that was the balance in the fund at present. it was
moved' by Hartley and seconded by Dull that the City Treasurer be author-
ized to purchase the above bond for the amount specified. The motion
carried.
A communeiation from the industrial Accident Board in which
they offered to sell Spec. Imp. Dist. l a :: 19 Bond go. 12 for $79.'7l;
Dist. No. 2,0 Bond ro, . 7 for 30.65; Dist. No 22 Bond. No. 5 for x78.37.;
Dist. NQ.- 24 Bond No. 3 for 57.'75•, Dist. No. 37 Bond No. 38 for
$41.95 Dist. No. 38 Band No, 27 for $79.09; Dist. No. 42 Bond No.
2 for X45.88; and Dist. No. 44 Bonds Nos. 19 & 20 for x$139.40, making
