The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the city Hall and was called to order by Mayor R. Broughton at 8:00 o' clock P. U. Tuesday, December 4 1934. Upon roll call the following Aldermen answered present,: Bray i Bidwell Lai Vordahl Rear on Hartley Conrad The minutes of November 20th were read and approved. The report of the C,ity_ Treasurer for the month of Ho7ember was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded?b3r Hartley that the report be approved. The otiQn carried. a a. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that the security be `approv'ed. The motion carried: oustodiam Receipt No.C198, executed by the Helena Federal Reserve Bank, coffering $15,000.00 4th 41 4berty Bonde, placed as security by the?,Aidland National Baiik of Billings, monta,na., for deposits of the City_ of t6urel was presented for release. It was .moved by Vordahl and seconded by Conrad that they be 'released. The ;motion carried. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Vordahl that the City Treasurer interview the Midland liational Bank to see if they would be willing to i.nerease. their security if they got more money.. The motion carried. The report of the Health Officer for the month of November was presented and read. It was moved by yor?dahl and seconded by Reardon that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the Chief of Polio for the. month of November was presented and read. Ito was moved by Hartley and seconded by Law that the report be approved. The motion carried. Fly 6.00 It was moved by gordahl and s"onded by Law that the report of the Finance Committee be accepted' and that warrants be `issued in the manner recommended by the Committee. The motion carried. The Committee.,appointed to nominate an Alderman to fill the unexpired term of $d. Gump reported recormending that Sam Carlson be appointed. on investigation it appeared that his name,was not on the tag roll. Thereupon it was moved by Conrad and seconded by mar-ion that the Committee be given farther time for nomination. The motlojii carried. The Street & Alley Committee reported recommending .thy the warning signals be placed 'ar-ound the gyl anasium school. It was moved by Conrad and seconded by Hartley that 'the Street & 'Alley ;Gommit,tee proceed with the purchase and erection of the signs. The motion carried. After some discussion of dog license it was moved by Bray and seconded by ?'ordahl that the Police be paid. fifty cents for eats license collected anal: one dollar for each dog killed. The motion carried. Mr. Vordahl offered an amendment to prdinanae No. 333, be- ing the bog char ordinance. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by. Vordahl that the amendment be approved. Ovdi.nance No. 331, being an ordinance providing that it shall be unlawful for any person or persons; firm or corporation,to erect maintain, and place or move into the aoxporate limits of the City of Laurel, Montana, any box car or refrigerator ear, without first-obtain- ing`a permit from the City Goancil of said City, and providing a penalty therefor-, was presented far -final passage.- it was 'moved by 7Rar?tl%ey; and seconded by Yordabl.- that ordinance No. 331, as amended, be given: final passage and approval.` Vpon roll call, all Alde=en present voted aye. Thereupon the gayor declared said Ordinance l-a. 331 finally passed and approved. Q 3INANU H0. 332. Thereupon the JTayor declared said Oxd nanee Ho 302 finally passed and approved. It € s moved by Bray and seconded by_.eonrad that the license be granted and the City Treasurer authorised to issue same. The motion carried.
