Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Laurel, Montana,_
October 30, 1934.
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in special
session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall to consider the
release of $5,000.00 liberty Bonds from the Midland National Bank,
contract for water extension beyond the city limits, and the pur-
chase of lots for implement shed, and was called to order bar 'Mayor
R. Broughton at 8;00 o'clock P. M, Tuesday October 30, 1934.
Upon roll call the following Aldermen answered present;
Bray
Sidwell
Cum
Law
Vordahl
Conrad
A request from the Midland National Bank for the release
of $5 9 00.0.00 U. S. Foarth Liberty Loan Bonds, which would leave
$159000.00 still pl:aeed, was presented and read..The City Treasurer's
last report showed that the balance on hand was $7,838.48. Thereupon
it was moved by Vordahl and seconded b Bray that the City Treasurer
be authorized to release said 000.00 Liberty Loan Bonds. The
motion carried.
Mr. Rybin appeared..in.regard to his building permit and he
was advised that his application of Feb. 6, 1934, would be permitted
to stand.
Dr. Broughton left and.Nels Vordahl, President of the Council,
presided during the remainder of the meeting.
Mr. H edrowski and I r. Vi4 appeared before the city
Council in regard to contract for water on the juniper Avenue Extension.
A contract was presented for discussion and changes were made in the.
form- in accordance with ideas of the City Council and the ,heater Users.
It was moved by Law and secondedby Conrad that the Mayor and City
Clerk be authorized to sign the constract with them. The motion carried.
It was moved by Conrad and seconded by Gum that the 'dater
Con-nissioner be authorized to purchase the pipe fox them. The motion
carried.
It was moved by Conrad and seconded by,yaw that the City
Clerk be authorized to purchase ten-twelfths of Lots 13, 14 & 15, Block
1, East tauxel Subdivision from the Taxtitle office of the County for
$54.00. The motion carried.
J It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn. The motion
carried.
