Laurel, Montana,
September 18, 1954.
The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chamber and was called to order by Nele
Vordahl President of the Council, at B:00 O'clock P. M. Tuesday
September 189 1934.

The minutes al'September 4th were read anal, approved

A communication from B. M. Harris, President of the
Yellowstone Bank, in which he stated that the Yellowstone Bank
was qualified for City deposits up to $25,000.00, and made ap-
plication for all of the City deposits, was presented and read.
It was moved and seconded that his letter be referred to TEr.
Price for his opinion. The motion carried.
An application l y.rJennie Starkey for a permit to build
an addition on her house at 602 I$nd Avenue was presented and read.
It was moved by Gum and seconded by Conrad that her request be
granted. The motion carried.
An application by Chas. B. Sande for a permit to build j
an addition on his building located on lot 19, dock 1, Laurel
Realty Subdivision, 'was presented and read. It was moved by Reardon
and seconded by Sidwell that his request be granted. The motion
carried.
An application by Rev. Harold Botteron for a permit to
build 'a church on one of two locations was ordered tabled.
A bill of Issac Platz for X1.00, which had been referred
back for particulars,was presented. It was 'recommended by the
Finance Committee that the bill be paid. It was moved by Gum and
seconded by Bray that the bill be approved and paid. The motion
carried.
A claim of Allis Chalmers Mfg. Co. in th-e amount of $250.00 e
du August 15, 1935, being the balance due on the road patrol, was
presented. It was oved by Reardon and seconded by Conrad that the
bill be approved for payment August 15, 1935. The motion carried.
It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Reardon that the
lock for the vault door be purchased in accordance with Mr. Bebrendtfs
offer of $25.00. The motion carried.
Mr. Frank Miller requested permission to put in a culvert
in. 'front of his blacksmith shop. The matter was referred to the
Street & Alley Committee.
After some discussion of light poles it was moved by Hartley
and seconded by Gum that the Montana power Company be requested to ?- ?? '
clean light globes and paint posts in Lighting Districts Nos. l and 2.
The motion carried.
Dr. R. Broughton appeared and presided during the remainder
of the meeting.
Airs. Theo W. Johnson, Mrs. 0. R. Burdette, Mrs. F. H. Suddi-th
Mrs. H. Williams and hIrs. R. Harris appeared before the Council pro-
testing the transients on the streets. The I,aayor explained that every
effort was being made by the Committee to get them off the streets.

After some discussion of implement shed it was moved by
Hartley and seconded by Lave that the City Engineer make an estimate for
an implement shed and report at the next meeting. The motion carried.

The following bills were refer.re&1_ to the Finance Committe and
after due deliberation the Committee reported back recommending the
payment of the following bills:
Laurel Service Stati 2.30' Federal Laboratories Inc. 131.98
Independent Sdbti .ce .. 74.23
It was moved by Vaxdahl and seconded by Conrad that the report of the
Committee be adopted and that warrants be issued in the manner recom-
mended by the Committee. The motion carried.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn. The motion
carried.
