The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called to ofder by Mayor , R. Broughton at 8:00 o T clock P. Y. Tuesday July 17 , 1934. Upon roll` call the following Aldermen answered present: Bray Bidwell Law: Guru Reardon Conrad I Hartley The minutes of duly 3rd were read and approved. After some.diseass on of delinquent grater bills, it was moved by Law and seconded: by Hartley that delinquent water bills be referred to the Water Committee ia9tead of the Council as a whole. The motion carried. I Harry Dull appeared before the City Council in regard to closing First Street between Montana Avenue and First Avenue for the ?i week 'of the carnival. It was moved by Law and seconded by Gum that the request be granted. The motion carried. A letter from the Public Service Commission regarding water services _tD Ira Sullivan and others on the five acre tracts was read. It was moved by Conrad and seconded by Gum that a letter be directed to the Public Service Commission explaining the City's position in the matter-. The motion carried. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Gum that a letter be directed to the water users_ on the five acre tracts at the east end of town informing them that the water in the wooden mains would be shut off at some later date. Motion carried. An application by Sherrow Bros. to install underground tank was presented and read.. It was moved by Gum and seconded by Reardon that the request be granted. The motion carried. An application by the Laurel Security Company to remodel a store front was presented and read. It was moved by Law and seconded by Bray that the request be granted. The motion carried. An application by S. S. Bliss to erect awning on his apart- ment was presented and read. it was moved by Conrad and seconded by Gum treat the request. be granted. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Law that the City Engineer be instructed to notify Br. McCauley to refrain from diu Bing waste°:water" into the road along the northernly boundaryline of the City. The motion carried.
