The City Council of the-City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chamber in the City Hall and was called to order by Mayor R. Broughton at 8; 00 0' elock P. 11. Tuesday dune 19, 1934. Upon roll call the following Aldermen answered present; Bray Sidwell Law Vordahl Reardon Hartley Conrad The minutes of dune 5th were read and approved. I Mr. Orton and representatives of the Fire Department F appeared before the City Cou'n'cil in regard to fire extinguishers for the fire equipment. It was moved by Reardon and seconded by Conrad that the matter be referred to the Fire Committee and the Chief of the Fire Department. The motion carried. The corrected report of the Police judge for the month of May was presented and read. it was moved by Reardon .and second- ed by Conrad that the report be approved. The motion carried. After some discussion of collection of dog license it was moved by Lair and second-ad by Vorda,hl that the city ordinances be enforced in regard to-:she aellection of dog license or the owners of unlicensed dogs cited into Police Court. The motion carried'. An application b;? A. L. Trace for permit to move a building was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded. by Hartley that his request be granted. The motion carried. An application, by Hageter & Reardon for a, permit to erect a neon sign over the sidewalt at their place of buiness was presented and read. It was moved by Vordabl and seconded by Law that their re- quest be granted. the motion carried. An application by The Yellowstone Garage for a permit to erect a mookn sign .over the sidwwallc at their place of business on west Main Street was presented and read. It,was moved by liartley and seconded by law that their request be granted. The motion -carried:. R SQIa€7T Iai _ :4-34. Resolution No. 434, being a resolution transferring certain: funds was presented and read. It'was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that said resolution be passed and adopted.. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolution'was declared passed and adopted. After some discussion of C,ounty owned lots in outlying dis- triets, it was moved by Hartley and seconded, by Reardon that the County Corm issioners be requested not to sell any tots west of 6th Atenue, except the west half of blocks 3 &,4 in Park; Sabdivislgn, and all lots east of First Avenue to Juniper Avenue and north of 6th street. The motion carried. The Street _& Alley Committee reported recommending that the street light w 8,quth Firat Avenue be moved one-half block north It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Conrad that the report of the Committee be adopted and that the light be moved. The motion carried.. ?fir. Conrad and.fir., Vordahl reported on their correspgndence with the Northern Pacific Railway officials in regard to the P Park. It was de-aided not to take any further action until they had heard from Mr. Driscoll i Minutes of the City Council` of Laurel Laurel, Montana, June 19, 1934, cont. The Street & Alley Committee reported recommending that the sidewalk in. the business distriat be repaired and that the City Clert and City Attorney be direoted to no:6i±y the owners that if their sidewalks Ke:re_~nat repaired within, sixty days that the City would repair them and charge it against their property. it was moved by Conrad and seconded by Sidwell that the report of the Comthittee be adopted and that the City Clerk: and City Attorney send out notices as recommended. The motion carried. The Water Commissioner was instructed to cut off all water users that ogre for more than three months unless some payment was made.
