The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Gauneil Chambers in the City Hall and was called
to order b Mayor R. Broughton at 8:00 of Block P. M. Tuesday

Upon roll call the„following Aldermen answered present:

The minutes of March 20th were read and approved.
The report of the Police judge for the month of March
was presented and read. It was moved by- Voxdahl and seconded b
Dull that the report be approved. -The motion carried.
The report of the Chief of Police for the month of March
was presented and read. It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded b
Reardon that the report be approved. The motion carried.
The report of the Health officer was presented and read.
It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Dull that the report be ap-
proved. The motion carried.
The bills fox the month of March were referred to the
Finance Committee and after due deliberation the committee reported
back recommending the payment of the following `bills;

It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Law that the report of the
committee be accepted and that warrants be issued in the manner
-recommended by the Committee. The motion carried.
It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Dull that the bill
of The Laurel Trading Company,- in the amount of $23.30, be held up
for further investigation. The motion carried.
A B. Barg olf appeared before the City Council in re-
Bard to a nuisance existing at the property north of his place.
An application,by o. K.-Chapman for a license to operate
a soda fountain and to sell drugs and cigarettes was presented and
read. It was moved by Dull and seconded by Vordahl that his request
be granted and that the-City Treasurer be authorized to issue a
license. The motion carried.
This being the time set for receiving bids for the old int-
ernational truck the Clerk was instructed to open and real all bids.
Thereupon, the, bid of the Yellowstone Garage was read in which they
offered $9.95. It was moved by Vorda,hl and seconded by Dull that
their offer be accepted. The motion carried.
After some discussion in regard to §20.000. Yellowstone
County bonds held by the First National Bank of Minneapolis for
which the City Treasurer holds Custodian Receipt for the Yellowstone
Bang of Laurel, it was, moved by Vordahl and seconded by Reardon that
the Treasurer be authorized to surrender the Receipt in order that
the Federal Reserve Bank might issue a Custodians Receipt The
motion carried.
It was moved by Conrad and seconded by Brag that if the
City Treasurer failed to receive the new Custodians Receipt within
ten days that the City Council be notified.. The motion carried.
After some discussion of old pipe, it was moved by porter ?
and seconded by Law that advertisements be run in the Laurel Outlook
and Billings Gazette. The motion carried.
It was moved by Porter and seconded by Dull that the City
request the State Highway Commission to continue the oiled gravel on
the south side of the pavement between the N. P. Depot and Fifth Ave.
The motion carried.
It was moved by Dull and seconded by Law that we do now
adjourn., until 8:00 o' clock April 9th, 1934. The motion carried.
