M. Tuetdey March 6, 1934. Upon roll call, the following Aldermen answered present; Bray Porter Chamberlin Law Vordahl Reardon - I Bull Conrad The minutes of February 20th were read and approved. The report of the City Treasurer for the month of . February was presented and read. It was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Dull that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the Health Officer for the month of Feb- ruary was presented and read. It was moved by Chamberlin anal seconded by Law that the report be approved. The motion carried. - i The report of the Polee Judge for the month of February was presented and read. It was moved by Dull and seconded by Reardon j that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the Chief of Police for the month of Feb- ruary was presented and read. it was moved by Chamberlin and seconded by Reardon that the report be approved. The motion carried. ORDE,7 iii OF ti 0. 326 Ordinance No. 326, being an ordinance relating ,to the tapping of mains and the laying of sq3!vioe pipes in connection with the Laurel Municipal rater System by owners of `property in any special improve- 4, A4 t• t f d t t h i men is ric s erase subsequen o t e passage and approval of this ordinance for the replacement of wAter mains, and prescribing the amount of assessments to be asseskied against each lot or parl of land in said districts, was presented-.:"for final passage, It `was moved by Vord.ahl and seconded by Reardon that final passage and approval 'of said ordinance be made. Upon roll call, all Aldermen present voted aye. Thereupon the Mayor declared said.Ordinance No,. 326 finally passed and adopted. i RESOLUTION N2?;_429 Resolution No. 423, being 'a resolution relating to the levy- ing and assessing a tax upon all property in fourth ward water, mains district 1933 to defray the cost of making improvements in said dist:= riot, was presented and read. It was moved by,Vordahl and seconded by Dull that said resolution be passed and adopted. Upon roll call ? all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolution was declared passed and adopted. The motion carried. Mr. George H. Smith appeared before the City Council in i regard to placing a frame garage on the back end of his building. After som discussion it was moved by Dull and seconded ?z, Reardon that the permit be granted providing that he cover the building with tin or sheet metal. The motion carried. An application to remodel and stucco his bla.eksmith shop by Frank biller was presented and read. It was mewed by Bray and seconded by Dull that the permit be granted. The motion carried:; - It was moved by Porter and seconded by Dull that the Clerk be instructed to write the property owners the amount of the assess menu and inform them that they can pay cash if they wish. The motion carried. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Chamberlin that the City advertise the old fire truck for sale. The motion carried. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Law that the request for a new water' main on Third Avenue be approved between Main S:t.reet" and First Street. The motion carried: The Committee appointed to study the license question filed a written report. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by yaw that the `report be referred to the City Attorney. The motion carried. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Bull that the City purcha e e more car of six inch pipe, which had been approved by the ang Committee-. The motion carried The contract for the Mountain States Telephone and Tele- graph company for operating the siren and calling firemen was brought up for discussion.. It was moved by Law and seeflnded by gor ahl that the contract `be= i jected' in its present farm. The motion carried. Thereupon it was, mcved by Vordahl and seconded by Conrad that t City Attorney be 'instructed' to draw' up a new contract modifying the objectionable clauses. The motion carried. After some., discussion regarding wages for-Jabor it; was moved by Lain and se c ondb4 '.by bull that the minliham- wages paid for labor be set at fifty gents (60 ) . The motion carried.
