The City Council of the City of Laurel met in .Special
Session in the Council Chamber.in the City Hall to consider water
mains and C IA work and was called to order by Mayor R. Broughton
at 8:00 o'clock P. M. Wednesday January 10, 1934.
Upon roll call the following Aldermen answered present:
Bray
Porter
Chamberlin
Law

Vardahl

Reardon
Dull

Conrad
The petitions from Forest, Durland and Yellowstone
Avenues for the replacement of water maims in the same manner
as if a special improvement district were created under the
M? provisions of the NA were presented and read. It was moved
by Dull and seconded by law that the petitions be approved and
that work-be started as soon as possible. The motion carried.
A petition for five blocks of water main on. Fifth Ave,
north of Main Street, one block on-Second Avenue north of Main
Street and two blocks on First Street between Second Avenue and
Fourth Avenue was presented and read. A petition was also pre-

sented for the replacement of seven blocks of water main on Third
Avenue. The petitions were referxed to the Water Committee fox
conaidera.t-ion. After due deliberation the OQmmittee reported
back reoommanditg that five blo-eke on Fifth Avenue, one plus on
Second A-venue ajA two blocks on Fixat Street be replaeed. It was
moved b?y,aiid , seconded by Qon:rad that the report of the ao-m-
mittee 'be, accepted and the work. be started as soon as possible
The motian carried.
The Committee also recommended that the petition for
the replacement of water mains on Third. Avenue be held up. it
was moved by -Dull and seconded by Reardon that the report of the
Committee be accepted. the motion carried.
It was moved by Dull and seconded by Vordahl that we do
now adjourn. The motion carried.
