Minutes of the City Council of Laurel € November 5, 1935 The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall, and was called to order by Nels Vordahl, President of the Council, at 7-00 o'clock P. M. November 5, 1935, Upon Roll Call the following aldermen answered present: Smith Hartley Bray Conrad Reardon Law Sidwell , The minutes of October 15th were read and approved. The. T>reasurer s report for the month of October was presented and read. It was moved by Conrad and seconded by Reardon that the report be approved. The motion" carried, The City Clerks s report for the month of October was presented and read.' It was moved by Smith and seconded by Law that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the Chief of Police for the month of October was presented and read. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Reardon that the report be accepted and placed on file.- The motion. carried. The report of the Police Judge for the month of October was presented and read, It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Smith. that the report be returned for more complete information regarding case of John Hawkins which was dismissed without fine, The motion ca.rr edv The Water Commissioner's report for the month of, October was presented and read. It was moved -by Law and seconded by Smith that the report be accepted and placed on file. The motion carried. The bills for the month of October were referred to the 1 nance Committee, and after due deliberation the Committee reported back recommending the payment of tiae following bills: R. The motion carried. fix. 0. T. Tharalson asked for permit to add zoom 10 by 14 on East side of house and to glass in porch to cost around $450.00. It ..' was moved by Hartley and seconded by Reardon that the permit be granted. The motion carried. Mrs. G. F. I indauer asked for permit to move house 24 by 24 on to Lots 19 and 20 Block 10, Laurel Heights,, to,be shingled outside, add room a-ad .porch, concrete foundation and to be connected with sewer and water. -n1t ?waa, ffie vedi by Law an seopded ,by gpardan that the permit be granted. The motion carried..,: Mrs. G.F.Lindauer also asked for permit to more two box ca rs for garage purposes on Lots 19 and 201 310ck 10, Laurel heights, garage to have roof changed and to be painted, It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Smith that. permit be granted provided it was-built-according to City Specifications. The motion carried. GRDINANGE NO. 342 Ordinance Ho 342 being an ordinance revising and amending section 14 of Article `1 of Chapter -E of Ordinance No 228 bf-_ the Re- vised Ordinances of 'the City o bLaurel, relating to time of meetings of the City Council. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Last that Ordinance No 342 be passed upon its first reading. Upon Roll call all aldermen present voted Aye and the motion carried. RESOLUTION 461 Resolution Bo. 451 being a Resolution authorizing the Mayor and City" Clerk to publish notice of sale of 1916 Refunding Bonds, It was moved by Conrad and seconded by Reardon that Resolution be passed and adopted. Upon Roll Cali, all aldermen present voted Aye and said Resolution was declared passed and adopted, This being the time set for receiving bids on twelve-inch . twenty-gauge mild rolled'copper,, the clerk was instructed to open and read all bids submitted. The bide were as follows; Montana Hardward Company,, Butte, Montana. 17.60 Lineal feet of 12" B&3 ,032 or 20 gauge Mild Rolled Copper Anaconda Soft Copper in Balls apps. 2,522 Lbs. 1514 Lb. $384.63. Above prices FOB Laurel, Montana B y in approximately 10 days from factory. Marshall Wells Go Billings, Montana, reported by telephone their bid would` be in by mail in morning. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by B, that the matter be referred to special committee.. The motion' carried. The City Engineer reported on the progress of the Resergoir project. DX., Broughton appeared and presided during. remainder of meeting* A letter was read from T A. Rigney, asking that his salary be restored to ydrmer level as before depression. It was moved by Smith and seconded by Law that .the matter be referred to,the Finance Committee. Upon Roll Call all aldermen present voted Aye, The motion carried, Air. Vordahl requested the water Oommissioner to write to d,w.Hughes Minutes of the City Council of Laurel November 5, 1935 state compensation offic er, ;gelena, Montana, regarding water bill that m. C.
