Hartley The minutes: of September 17th ,were read and approved. ll i The Treasurerts report for t Yee month of September was .I presented and read, it, was moved by Hartley and seconded by Vordahl that the report be approved. The motion carried. After some discussion regarding the 1916 Funding Bond Sinking account and the Water Works Series "A and "B" being in .the red, it was moved by Conrad and seconded by Reardon that the matter be referred to the Finance `doittee and the City Treasurer. The motion carried. j)r. Broughton had a call and Niels Vordahl, President of the gounoii presided during his ,absence. The Health Offioerz s report for the month of August was presented and read.. It was moved by lava and seconded by Smith that the report be approved. The motion carried. The Health Officer's report for the month of September was presented and read. It was -mB?ved by Conrad arA seconded by law that the report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the Chief of Police for the month of September was presented and read.. It was moved by lays and seconded by Conrad that the report be, approved. The motion carried. The report of the Police Judge for the month of September was presented and read. It was moved by Law an& seconded by Hartley that the report be approved. The ration carried. The bills for the month cif ' September were referred to the Finance Committee, and after due. deliberation the committee reported back redommending the payment of the following bills: R. Law was excused at this time, The report of the Water Commissioner` far the month of September fer--the menth of. Seiatemb-r was presented and read. It was moved by, Vordahl and seconded by Reardon that the report be approved. The motion carried. The motion carried, The. members of the Nazarene Church asked for a building- permit to erect as place of worship on the corner of 5th Avenue and Pte, avenue, building to be 32 by 50, bungalow style, full basement with stucco )utside and to be connected with water and sewer to cost approximately ?4500.00. Upon Roll: Call, Sidweli, Conrad and Hartley voted Aye, Smith and Brag voted lio, Reardon and Vordahl'not voting; the. motion tarried. Mrs. B.E Wallace asked for permit to enlarge back porch With an approximate cost of 43410d. It was moved by Conrad and seconded by Reardon. that the permit be granted. The motion carried. Frank, Parker asked for a permit to move a cottage 24 by 24 on Lots 11 and 12, Block 14, Laurel Realty Subdivision, house to be painted, and made modern, at- an approximate cost of 4600,001 It was moved' by -7 rdahl and seconded by Reardon that the permit be approved, The motion eaxti&A. I An appl cation was made by J .B Cranwill for a permit to build a garage, cement foundations stucco outside, to cost around $100.00. it 'Was moved 'by Conrad and:_seeanded by Reardon that the permit be approved. The motion carried. After some discussion it was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Reardon that the permit be approved. The motion carried. Ordinance No. 343. Ordinance No. 341 being an ordinance amending ordinance No. 288 relating to Licensing Certain 4coupations,-Industries, Trades, Pursuits and Professions in the ,City of Laurel, and requiring payment of a license fee, was presented for final passage. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that said Ordinance No. 341 'ire given final passage and approval, Upon Roll Call all aldermen present voted Aye and Ordinance No. 341 was finally passed and approved.
