Minutes of the City Council of Laurel A 't 6, 1935 _ The City Council of the City of Laurel, titan,, met in regular session in the Council Chambers of the Cityr Hall, and was called to order by mayor R. Broughton at 8 o; 01001k P. August 69 19359 Upon R011 Cali, the fallowing aldermen, answered present; Vordahl ,armed Smut h Bray Reardon Law The minutes of July 16th, Julys 23rd and August 2nd were read and approved.. The report of the City Treasurer for the month of July was Vvadenkid and read: It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Conrad that the report be approved, The motion earned The report of the Police Judge for the month of presented and read. Fahy and ono Gary appeared before the 46unail regarding the- permit for owing the Reaper Church to Laurel on Lot 9, Block 109 Laurel Realtyr t4b, to be remodeled into Conmun .ty Hali, repaird to cost approximately 00,00, After some dis- cussion it `vas moved by Conrad and seceded by Low that the permit be granted provided the Hall would not be used for rental purposes,. The motion carried. An application by C. E. Thornton appeared before the Council 'asking for permission to move Refrigerator Car on his property South of mill, to be remodeled and used for.Hrodu.ce stand. Car to have roof-changed and to be Vainted green and grey* Approximate cost to be $".00, It w4ss moved by ordahl and seconded by Reardon that his regaest be granted., The motion--carried, W, Broughton reported that he had appointed two Highway paitrolmen., w. A letter was read from Ur. Cogswell of the state Board of Health Qom- plaining about the amount of oil. in the water, After some discussion it was moved by yord;ahl -and seconded by, Smith that the City Bngineer be instructed to answer the letter telling them the matter would be referred to the Refinery.
