The City'C ouneil of the City of Laurel met in r egular session
in the Council Chamb ers in the City Hall and, was called t o order by
mayor R. Broughton at 8:00 of clocii? P. u,, April 2 1935.
Upon roll call the f.911-owing aldermen answered present;

Bidwell

Hartley
The minute s of March 5th and 19th were read- and approved.
The report of the Chief of Police for the month of I;Iaxch was
presented and read. it was moved by Law and seconded by B.ray that it
- be approved. The mo tion carried.
The report of the Police_?Judge for the month of march was
'presented and read. It was moored: by Vordahl and seconded by Scheidecker
that it be approved. The motion carried.
The report of the City Treasurer for the month of Marcia was ?
presented and. read. It was `moved by Conrad and seconded by Scheidecker
that it be approved. The motion carried.
The report of the City Clem for the mont h of march was pre-
sented and read. it was moved by Voxdahl and seconded by Hartley twat
- it be approved. T$Se motion carried.
The bills for the month of March were referred to the Finance
Committee and after' due deliberation the Committee report ed back recom-
mending the payment of the following. bills:

It was moved by Conrad and seconded by Law that the, report of the
Committee be accepted and that warrants be issued in the manner recom-
mended by the Committee. The motion carried.
RESOLUTION NO. 442.
?y This being the time set fox hearing protests against the
passage of resolution No. 442, the City Clerk produced proof of pub-
lication and stated,that no protests had been received.. It was moved
• by Vordahl and seconded by Hartley that said resolution be finally
passed. Uponroll call all Aldermen present voted aye and said resolu-
ti on was declared finally passed.

After some discussion of license it was moved by Hartley and
seconded by Bidwell that the City Tx?easurex be instructed not to issue
license for more.than one quarter without consent of the Council.. Upon
roll' call all Aldermen present voted aye and said ` motion was declared
passed.
Aftex some discussion of ordinance No. 332,-being an ordinance
defining a public dance hall and providing closing hours ;therefor, it
was moved by Lain and seconded by. Hartley that the City Attorney, be in-
structed to draft an ordinance repealing ordinance No 332. Upon roll
call Bray, Law, Qcheidecter, Reardon, Vordahl,, Hartley and Conrad voted
rtayen and Sidwell voted s,no Thereupon the ya:?or declared said motion
passed.
:After come discussion of the Sam LeFrance storage 'contract it
was moved by Voxdah.l and seconded by Scheidecker that it remain as
written. The motion carried.
It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Sidwell that the mat ter
of purchasing coal for the City Hall and Pump House be referred to-the
k - Purchasing Committee. The motion carried.
RESOLUTION NO. 443.

Resolution No. 443, ,being a resolution delearing an emergency
exists; requiring additional expenditures from the Garbage, Police, Street,
Building, Health and Miscellaneous funds and directing publication of
notice of a public hearing, was presented and read. It was moved by
Vord.ahl and seennded by Conrad that resolution No. 443 be passed and
adopted. Upon roll call all Aldermen present voted "aye" and trie mayor
declared said resolution passed and adopted.
It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Lave that the City enter
into a contract with the applicants heretofor,filed for water service on
the transmission main to the reservoir and that water meters be :stalled
for each of there.- Upon roll call Bray, Bidwell, Law, Scheideclcer,
Reardon, Vordahl and Conrad voted "aye" and. Hartley voted "no". There-
upon the 1ayor declared the 'motion passed.
A application by t. dodgers for a permit to build a house on
lots one and two, Block ten, rutting Subdivision, was presented and read.
It wa.s moved by Vordahl and seconded by Reardon that his request be
granted. The motion carried.
application by the Free Methodist Church for a permit to
place a ,box car back of their church was presented and read and was held
over for further particulars.

was presented and read. It,was moved by Gonrad and. seconded by ScheidecLcer
that his request be granted. The motion "carried
