r Laurel, Montana,
March 19, 1935.
The City Council of. the City of Laurel met in regular
session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall and was called;
to order by Mayor R. Broughton at 8:00 o'clock P. M4 Tuesday
march 19, 1935.
Upon roll call the following Aldermen answered present:
Bray
Sidwell
Law
Scheidecker
Reardon
Vordahl
Conrad
Hartley
The City Clerks report; for the month of February was
presented and read. It was moved by 'Vordahl and seconded by
Scheidecker that the report be approved. The motion carried.
The contract-wit t e -In endent Refining Company for
wager for the ensuing year/% `?r' P ted and r'ead.. It was moved
by Hartley and seconded by Vordahl that the contract be approved.
Upon roll call, Bray and ;Law voted''no"and Sidwell, Seheidecker,
Reardon Vord.al Conrad an ar ley votes "yes".T e' motion was
declared passed.
An applications by G: F. Wheeler for a permit to remodel
his house was presented 'and read..' It was moved by Vordahl and
seconded by Reardon that his request be granted. The motion carried.
An application by Alex Leis for a permit to build a garage
was-presented and read. It was moved by Scheidecher and seconded by
Conrad that his-request be granted. The motion carried:.
An application by 0. J.., looters for a permit to add a
garage to his house on Fifth avenue was presented and read. It was
moved by Hartley and. seconded by Reardon that his request be granted.
The motion carried.
An application by F. E. Jacobson for a permit to build a
garage was presented and read. It was moved by Sidwell and seconded
by _Vordahl that his request be. granted. The mo-fian carried.
A request by .crank Wright to reduce the . kating rink
license was presented. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Law
that the matter be tabled. The motion carried.
A Custodia:n's .Receipt 'No. 11, covering 'U. S. Treasury
Bonds-of 1941, 34%, due 8-1-41, in the amount of $1.0,000.00, placed
with the Fed. Reserve Ban of ne s a s u i4 t Wideposits
of the City of Laurel/, inwa h?AIA 04 0 1 a . 1Wd by
Conrad and seconded by Reardonthat the security be released. The
motion carried.
A Custodian's Receipt No. ?M, covering home Owners Loan
Corp Bonds, 2%, in the amount of ?5,000.Of}, placed with the Fed.
Reserve Bank of Minneapolis as security for depostis of the City of j
Laurel, was presented for approval to release same as soon as the
balance of the funds had been withdrawn from the Midland National
Bank of Billings. It was moved by Hartley and seconded by Scheidecker
that the security be released when the Treasurer had withdrawn the
balance of the deposit. The motion carried.
hour Custodian's Receipts in the amount of X5,000.00 each, i
issued by the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, covering. $20,000.00
worth of Yellowstone County Bonds held as security for deposits in
the Yellowstone Bank was presented for quarterly approval. It was
moved by Vordahl and seconded by Sidwell that the security be approved.
The motion carried.
r- Mr. Packard appeared before the City Council in regard to
a carnival for the fire department and requested that they have pref-
erence in putting on a carnival this year. It was.moved by gordahl
and seconded by Raardon that his request be granted. The motion
carried.
