Re: 2009 Mobile Home, Personal Property, and Real Property Assessments
There are a number of bills being considered by the legislature that could have a direct
impact on the valuation of mobile homes, personal property, and real property for the
2009 tax year. High on that list is the reappraisal mitigation strategy and the several
bills that are intended to provide additional property tax relief to Class 8 -- business
equipment taxpayers. Until that gets sorted out, we need to hold up the mailing of the
2009 mobile home assessments. We'd normally like to have those assessment notices
in the mail by the middle of April. Our goal is to begin printing the personal property
.
mobile home assessments on May 11, 2009 and be completed by May 29, 2009.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we're hopeful that we'll be able to complete the
certification of values to the taxing jurisdictions by August 3, 2009.
Thank you for your understanding in this process.
