The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session
in the Council Chamber and was called to order by the President of
the Council, 11r. Conrad, at 7:30 o'clock P. 11. November 17, 1936.
Upon roll call the following aldermen answered present;

The minutes of November 31 were read and approved.
An application by N. L. Orndorff to erect a frame garage,
12.x16, sill foundation, to be painted and cost approximately 100,
at 512 First avenue was presented and read. It was moved by Bray
and seconded by Wooters the permit be granted. The motion carried.
An application by Sam Tinnes to erect a frame garage, 12x20,
on lots 7, 8 and 9, Bloch 14, Nutting addition, to be painted and
cost approximately $150.00, was presented and read. It was moved
by L. L. Smith and seconded by Law the permit be granted. The
motion carried.
An application by 1,'Irs. D. N. 11cCauley to tap on to water main
at the north end of Sixth Street was presented and read. It was
moved by Law and seconded by L. L. Smith permission be granted. The
motion carried.
;storage contract for the fire truer at the New Beal Garage was
presented and read. It was moved by L. L. Smith and seconded by Brag
the contract be approved and the mayor and City Clerk be authorized
to sign the contract. The motion carried.
ORDINANCE NO. 344
Ordinance No. 344, being an ordinance amending ordinance No. 79
of the Town of Laurel and defining a. lot and the unit of assessment
in unplatted areas, was presented and read. It etas moved by Law and
seconded by L. L. Smith that ordinance No. 344 be provisionally passed.
Upon roll call all aldermen present voted aye and said ordinance was
declared ;provisionally passed.
The Treasurer's delinquent license report was presented and read.
It was moved by L. L. Smith and seconded by Thomson the report be
approved.and placed on file. The motion carried.
'arrant No. E 8427 fox $5.00 drawn in favor of 0. J. hooters
was reported lost. It was moved by L. L. Smith and seconded by
I. V. Smith the City Clerk be authorized to issue a duplicate warrant.
The motion carried.
Reed for the twenty acres at Riverside Park was presented to the
Council for inspection. It was moved by L. L. Smith and seconded by
Thomson deed for the twenty acres and contract for deed for the five
acres at Riverside Park be recorded with the County Clerk and
Recorder. The motion carried.
hl'ayor Broughton arrived and presided during the remainder
of the meeting.
lair. Thomson presented the matter of 1r. Ira Rodgers wanting
permission to extend culvert in alley with barrels and cement. After
discussion it was moved by L. L. Smith and seconded by Bray the
request be denied as the city had no jurisdiction in that particular
matter. The motion carried.
The matter of drainage was discussed.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn. The motion
carried.
