The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall and was called to order by Mayor Broughton at 7;30 o'clock P. Y1. February 4th, 1936. Upon Roll Call the following aldermen answered present, Vordahl Bidwell Smit h Conrad Bray :4eardon Law The minutes of January 21st were read and approved, '- The Police report for the month of January was presented and read, it was moved by Conrad and`seconded by Reardon that the report be accepted and placed on file, The motion carried. The report of the Police fudge for the month of January was presented and read. It -vas moved by Law and seconded by Smith that the report be accepted and placed on file. The motion carried. The report of the Health officer for the month of January was presented and read, It was moved by Law and seconded by e&.tdon that the report be accepted and placed on file, The motion carried. The Treasurer's report for the month of January was presented and read. A motion was made by Vordahl and seconded by Law t4at the report be approved. The motion carried. The Clerk's report for the month of January was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Reardon that the report be approved. The motion carried. The City .Engineer's report of City Hall Improvements was presented and read, It was moved by Conrad and seconded by Reardon that the report be accepted and placed on file. The motion carried. The City Engineer's report of the expense and supplies for - Street Drainage was presented and read. It was moved by Law and seconded by Smith that the report be accepted and placed on file. The motion carried. The bills for the month of January were referred to the Finance Committee, and after due deliberation the Committee reported back recommend- ing the payment of the following bills; R. The motion carried. The matter of the box cars at Thorntons south of the mill being N ,a. fire hazard was discus sed. It was moved by Conrad and seconded by Vordahl that the City Clerk be instructed to write a letter to Mr. Packard Depu.tyj re . hA f asking him to take the matter up with the State Fire Marshall. The motion carried. The matter of raising funds for an addition to the Library was, discussed bat no action taken. It was moved b y Conrad and seconded by Vordahl that we do now adjourn.
