session in the Council Chambers in the City Hall and was called to
order by Mayor Broughton at 7:30 i?!clbct P. Id. January 21st 1936.
Upon Roll Gall the folidwing aldermen answered present

Sidwell
Smith
Conrad
Bray
Reardon
Law
The minutes of January 7th were read and. approved.
The delingient license report of the City Treasurer
was presented and read. After some discussion-it 'was moved by Vordahl
and seconded by Bray that the report be turned over to the Police Dom
mittee. The motion carried.
A bill for $98.00 to the Eureka Fite Hose Division of
U. S. Rubber Prddacts, Inc. for Chemical Fire Hose, was presented an4
read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Reardon that the-fire,
hose' be 'purchased and a warrant issued in payment of same. The motion
carried,
Geo. Harlan asked for permit to move a house 26 by 26 on
Lot. 6 Block 31 East QellOwstone Subdivision. House to be connected with
water and painted. Improvements to cost around :$600.00. It was moved
by law and seconded by-Reardon that the permit be granted. The motion
-carried.
Resolution No. 455
Resolution No. 455 being a resolution authorizing the Mayor
and City Clerk to cause a Rotice of Sale of refunding Bonds in the amount
of $11,000 to be published once each week for four sue-cessive; as presented
and road. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Conrad that Resolution
No, 455 be given final passage and approval. Upon Roll Call all aldermen
presented voted Aye and said Resolution 116, 455 was declared pawed •and
adopted.
Resolution No. 456
Resolution 1?04 456 being a Resolution pertaining to' signs
semaphores and signale exected on P,zblic Highway No. 310# was presented and
read. It -was waved b7 Ozarad and seconded by Reardon that Resolution No. 456
be given--f n?pl-?passage and approval. Upon Roll'Gallr,Tsrdahl, Smith, Conrad,
Bray, Reardon and last voted Aye and 4idwell 'voted No. Whereupon the X-:iyo r
declared Resolution No. 456 passed and adopted.
Mr. J. W. Fry, Secretary of the Oommercial Club, Mr. F.H.Suddith
Cdr. C.A.Eaton and Geo. Coy appeared before the Council with a bill for :92 00
for street markers/ It was moved by Reardon and seconded by Smith that the
bill be paid and warrant issued for same The motion carried.
Dr. Broughton reported that some of the teachers had asted for
School zone signs to be placed near olc' High Scfiovl. After some discussion
the matter was referred to the Street 06mmittee.
Mr. Conrad reported that there were two shacks in the East end ?
pf town that should be condemned, on account of being menace to health and a
fire hazzard. After some discussion it was moved by Conrad and seconded by
Vordahl that the City Attorney be instructed to write to the owners of shads
asking that they be removed. The motion carried,
Mr. B. L. Price, City Attorney asked for a leave of absence to
go to Washington, D. C. It was moved by, Vo rd.ahl and seconded by Reardon that
he be given a three 'weets leave of abseence The motion carried. `
Dr. Broughton had to leave and Hels Vordahl presided during ther

B.l.Price brought up the subject of the North road out of

Laurel. A motion was made by Smith and seconded by Conrad that the
Council go on record as endorsing a North road out of Laurel. The
motion carried,
r. T. A. Rigney'reported on the progress of the Reservoir
and the City Drainage projects.
It was moved by Law and seconded by Reardon that we do not
adjourn. The motio: carried.
