The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session in
the Council Chamber and was called to order by Mayor Broughton at
7:30 o t clock P. M. June 15, 19317.
Upon roll call the following aldermen answered present:

Scoarse
Thomson
Conrad
Woote rs
Dr. I. N. Smith

The minutes of June lst were read and approved.
Mrs. G. F. Lindauer appeared before the Council in regards to
treatment at the time of arrest for traffic violation. It was moved
by Law and seconded by Thomson the matter be dismissed. The motion
carried.
Mr. Wayne 'Hillis appeared before
regulations. The Mayor stated he had

Mr. Guy Bray appeared before the Council protesting the sale of
the water tower.
This being the time set for receiving bids on the sale of the
water tower, the City Clerk reported no bids had been received.
This being the time set for receiving bids on the sale of Lots
1 to 6 inclusive, of Block' Laurel Young's Subdivision, the City
Clerk was instructed to open and receive all bids. A bid was received
from Mrs. Odetta Wardell submitting a price of $300.00 for the lots.
The Mayor declared a short recess and referred the matter to the
Finance Committee and City Attorney. The committee reported back
recommending the sale of the lots for $300.00 to Mrs. Wardell. It
was moved by I. N. Smith and seconded by Geo. Smith the report of the
committee be accepted. Upon roll call all aldermen present voted aye
and the motion was declared passed.
An application for a permit by C. IV. Wardell to erect a frame
and stucco tourist camp, garage and filling station to cost approximately
$10,000.00 on Lots 1 to 6 inclusive, Block 1$ Laurel Youngs Subdivision
was presented and read. It was moved by Conrad and seconded by Law
the permit be granted. The motion carried.
An application for a permit by 0. M. Harp to erect a neon sign
size 8x22 over the sidewalk at the City Club Inn was presented and
read. It was moved by Conrad and seconded by Thomson the permit be
granted. The motion carried.
Mr. Conrad reported negotiating with Cloyce Platz on a lease for
Riverside Park and presented some details. After discussion it was
moved by Thomson and seconded by Scoarse the matter be referred to the
Park Committee to continue along the lines discussed. The motion
carried.
The City Engineer reportedon the progress of cutting logs and
erecting fence at the reservoir.
It was moved and seconded that we do now adjourn. The motion
carried.
