A letter from the City Treasurer asking for a resolution
transferring certain funds from closed accounts to the General
Fund and for returning $55,.03 to the General
Fund from the 1936
Refunding Fuad, was presented and read.,, It was moved by Thomson
and seeo ded by scoa.rse a resolution be drawn to transfer the
funds. The motion carred,
The Citi' Engineer reported in regards to assessing for tapping
trunk line sewer, the erection of a garage by Harry Penni ger o
Lots 9 and 1 ,, Block 1 , Laurel Realty Second Subdivision, It was
moved by Thomson and seconded by sc oars e a resolution be drawn
assessing Lots 9 and 10, Block 139 Laurel. Realty Second Sub* for
run line sewer tap, The motion carried,

The City C le r reported to the Council that a petition had been
filed 1n her office on July 19, 1938, bearing a sufficient number of
signers qualified to sign the same , being .ore than 20 of the
registered electors whose names appear upon, the last completed assess".

Laurel., requesting the City Council to call an election to vote upon
the ques io of issuing a: d -selling Genera. Water Bonds in the amount
of §40,000 for the pu: o se of replacing a portion of the t ran smis sl o
water mains for constructing additional water mains in the distribution
system, f or j 1mproving the intake and pump house facilities of the
municipal water works system, and placed said petition b efore the
City Council together with her cer ifieate attached thereto,,This
being the first meeting held after she ;had attached said certificate
thereto, The Council thereupon examined such petition and found fte
same in proper forte., and that it bears the requisite number of
signatures of qualified petitioners and is in all respects sufficient,
After discussion the following Resolut ion No. 491 and entitled ItA
Resolution providing for the calling and holding of a Special Election
for the purpose of submitting ing o the Qualified :electors of the City
of La.ur el , Montana., who are taxpayers upon property within said city,
and whose names appear on the last completed assessment roll. for
State anc County taxes, the question of whether the indebtedness of
the said. City of Laurel, Montana, shall. be increased in excess of
the Three per cent Limit fixed by the constitution of ' s aid State s
by the issuance for sale of bunds of said City in the amount of
Forty Thousand Dollars for the purpose of replacing a portion of the
transmissionwater ma ins, for eonstruc ting additional water mains
:.n the d . s t r .but ion system, and for improving the intake and pump
house faciit ie s of the water works system., now owned and operated
by said City, and thus procure an adequate water supply therefor,
and -providing the full amount required to b e expended for sch
purpose, providing the amount of the loan to be made for such purpose,
providing the term over which the bonds evide e' ing such, indebtedness
will extend and the maximum rate of interest to be paid on said bonds,
and providing the manner of giving notice of said special elee is ,

carried and the Mayor and Citi' Clerk thereupon signed the said
resolution in approval. thereof,
The City Clerk reported to the Council that a petition had been
filed in her office on July 19, 1938, bearing a sufficient number of

vote upon the question of issuing and selling Genera. Sewer Bonds
in the a .oust of $6,,000 for the purpose of constructing and
establishing a trunk line public sewer to be connected with the
present sever system of said Cityp and placed said petition before

this being the first meeting held after she had attached said
certificate t er to The Council thereupon examined such petition
and found the same in proper fore., and that it bears the requisite
number of signatures of qualified petitioners and is irY� al l respects
sufficient. After discussion the following Resolution No. 492
and entitled. " Resolution providing for the ealli.ng and holding
of a Special. Election for the purpose of submit t ing to the qual.i.fi.ed,
Electors of the City of Laurel.. Montana, who are taxpayers upon
property within said City., and whose names appear on the last
completed assessment roll for state and count' taxes, the questi o
of whether the indebtedness of the said City of Laurel., Montana,
shall be increased in a xcess of the three per cent limit fixed
by the eonstitution of said state, by the issuance and sale of bonds
of said City in the amount of Six Thousand Dollars for the purpose
of constructing and establishing a trunk line public suer to be
connected with the present sewer system of said city, and providing
the full amount required to be expended for such purpose, providing
the amount of the loan to be made for s u h purpose, providing the
terin over which the bonds evidencing such indebtedness will extend
and the maximum rate of interest to be paid on said bonds.* and

within a proposed Special Improvement District requesting the Council

It was mored by Thomson and seconded By Geo* Swath that said resolution
