The City Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session
in the Council Chamber and was called to order by Mr. Conrad., Mayor.,

Upon roll call the following aldermen answered present,

The minutes of April 19th were read and approved,
The report of the Health Officer for the month of April was
presented and read, It was moved by Thomson and seconded by Gomer
the report be approved. The motion carried.,
The report of the Police Officers for the month of April was
presented and read. It was moved by Law and seconded by Scoars-0�1'
the report be approved. The notion carried,
`Me report of the Police Judge for the month of April was
presented and read. It was moved by Law and seconded by Geo. Smith
the report be approved. The motion carried.
The report of the It Treasurer for the month of April was
presented and read. It was moved by Thomson and seconded by Woofers
the report be approved. The motion carried.
The report of the City IN.ater Department for the month of April
was presented and read. It was moved by Law and seconded by Scoarse
the report be approved. The motion carried.
The report of th.e City Clerk for the month of April was presented
and read. It was moved by Law and seconded by Sco&rse the report be
approved. The motion carried,

It was moved by Law and seconded by Tho msbn the report of the Cornmittee
be accepted and warrants issued in the manner recommended by the
Committee. The motion carried,
lVir, 'iharalson, Westover and Spencer representing a group of tennis
players appeared before the Council asking that the city buy two nets
for the tennis courts, in the City Park. It was moved by Lam` ,and
seconded by Thomson the matter be referred -to the Park Corraitte'e with
authority to act, The motion carried,
An application for a permit by Wm. Shively to construct a modern
frzme building from a refrigerator car, concrete foundation., on Lots
3 and 4, Block 27, Al .arils Subdivision, was presented aiid read. It
was moved by Wooters and seconded by Law the pent be granted,, The
motion carriedt
An application for a permit by James Rollmlan to construct a
frame garage, concrete foundation, on Lot 13, Block 17*., Laurel Heights
Subdivision., was presented and read. It wa:s moved by Law and seconded
by Gomer the per nit be granted. The motion carried,
An application for a permit by C. IjNl'. Laird to erect a modern brick
and cement building., size 30,by 60, on Lot 17., Block 1., Fast Laurel.,,
was presented and read.. It was moved by Law and seconded by Wooters the
perniit be granted, hey- =tion carried,
A letter fron Wood ej,, Cooke, Attorneys at Law., representing Mr.
Barry OfLeary was presented and read relative to billing the State of
Montana for the cost of pumping at the underpass drain, After discussion
it was moved by Dr. Sraith and seconded by Geo, Smith the State of Miontana
be presented with a bill for the entire amount of the cost of pumping at
the underpass drain, The motion carried,,

discuss the matter of compensati..... on for work done and. present a bill.
The motion carried,
Mr. Gomer reported that Railroad Street was iii very bad condition.
After discussion the City Engineer was instructed to contact the Highway
Departmexit and lvfro Durland and endeavor to have it repaired,
Dr# Smith returned and participated 'in the further deliberation of
the meeting,
The Water I Comm'ssioner reported the approval of a P.W.A. project
for the replacement of water mai4s in the .City of Laurel, which had
been approved at Washington, A qu6stiona.re submitted by the Regional
Dir-Elctor at Omaha, Nebraska, was submitted, It was moved by, Thomson
and seconded by Scoa-rse the questionaire be filled out and sent in.
The motion carried.
I.Tir. Thomson report that other lines were being added to the
LaPrath line outside the city linits and they wanted to make a new
contract and that the co=.ittee would endeavor to have the contracts
ready for iiext meeting.
It was moved and seconded we do n -ow adjourn, The notion carried,
