The Citi Council of the City of Laurel met in regular session
in the Council Chamber and was ealled to order by Mayor Broughton at
7,#.30 o1clock P. M. February 1, 1938o
Upon roll. call the following aldermen answered present,

It was moved by
Law and seconded by Dr. Smith the motion for
suspending expenditure of money
'on Mfverside Park tourist cabins

recondidered bees -use
it is necessary to purchase gasoline for
the
truck used in transporting workers to the Park. Upoia roll. call

Scoarse.. Conrad and Gomer voted no and Wooters,
Dro Smith and Law voted yes and
the motion was declared lostw

January were referred to the
Finance
Committee and after due deliberation the committee reported back
recomnending the payment of the

1t was moved by Conrad and seconded by Wootera the report of the
Finance Committee be accepted and warrants 'issued as recommended b
the Committee.. The motion carried*
. bill to Lewis R. Salsbury for iiaterept at 6 from 1933 to 1938
on Bond No of Special. Improvement District No., 54, was presented..
The Mayor referred the: matter to the City Attorney for investigation

and report at the next meeting,
The report of the Police officers for the month of January was
presented and read,,. It was moved by Lair and seconded by Dr. Smith
the report be approved, The motion carried.
The report of the Police Fudge for the month of January was
presented and read. It was mored by Conrad and seconded by :haw the
report be approved, The motion carried.,,
An application for a permit by J# A. Hartley to move a frame
garage f rora Lots 13 and, 14 to Lots 15 and 16 ., Block 1 ., Nutting Subo».

cost approximately $300#00, was, presented and read, It was moved by
Conrad d and seconded b Thomson :the permit be grantedo The motion carried*
An application for a permit by Clyde Decker to erect a frame and
painted garage size 22x18, concrete foundation on Lot 15, Block 26,E Laurel
Realty Second Subdivision, was presented and read, It was mored by Law
and seconded by Scoarse the permit be granted, The motion carried*
Regarding meal tickets submitted for, payment b7 the Police Depart4w
ment it was moved by Conrad and seconded by Woo ers the Police officers
be instructed to place the date and name of person receiving the meal
on the ticket, The motion carried
Mr. Law reported tb.a the Yellowstone Motor Company would more
the fire truck at $20.00 per month if the City furnished the driver,
iv rt . mMiller of the Yellowstone Motor Company appeased before the
Council and stated that they would store the fire truck a $25.00 per
month and furnish the driver„ It was moved by Scoarse and seconded
by Law the city council ac ep X ,# Miller's proposition an a. contract
be drawn for one years �he motion carried,
Mr. Thomson.. Chairman of the eater Committee, reported that in
their meeting with the School Board to decide upon the size of pipe
and the method of paying for it for one �bl.ock of pipe between Fifth
and Sixth Streets on Colorado avenue that the Water er Committee had
offered to substitute, three inch pipe In that block for the two inch
pipe )that the School Board had purchased for that purpose and that
he two inch pipe would be used on other streets. He stated that this
arrangement was satisfactory with the School Board* It was moved b
Thomson and seconded by Gomer that the report of the Committee be
adopted and the City Clerk be authorized to purchase Soo feet of three
inch cast iron pipe from the stock now on band in Billings, The
motion carrried.
It was moved by Gomer and seconded by Thomson the City Attorney.

Improvement District for sewer on the south side. Upon roll call all
aldermen present voted aye and the motion was declared passed*.
It was mored by Law and seconded by Thomson the Fire Chief be
notified that a contract was being drawn to place the fire truck at
the Yellowatone Motor Company and that the truck be moved there
February $ 1938* The motion carried.*
It was moved and seconded we do now adjourn, The motion carried::
