A bit ~ to Paul ~irohaugh for ~~71.06 was presented. S~ vuas rnoved bar Vardahl and seconded by ~arl~er the bi11 be paid. The motion carried. The report of the '~~dater Dept. for the month of P~iay was presented and read. It was moved by Vordahl and seconded by Thomson the report be approved. T~~ motion carried. The .report of the City Clerk ~'or the month of N_ray was presented and read. It was moved by I~cPJlar~us and seconded by Thomson the report be approved. The motion carried. An application for a permit by Mrs. T. J. Click to cons~ru.ct a co~acrete wa11 and floor in b~.semer~t a~ 402 Second .eve. was presented and read. It was moved by Thomson and seconded by Jo11ey the permit be granted. The motion carried. Are application f'ar a permit 'by David Frank ~o construct a cor~cre~e basement ar~d add two rooms on hots 3, 4, 5, Block 21, Laurel Really Second Sub. was presented ar~d read. It was moved by Feuerbacher and seconded by Thomson the permit be granted. The motion carried. ~n application for a permit by John P~. A letter from the Laurel C~arder~ Club was ~~esented and read ire which they expressed thanks for the help and co-operation received from the City Cou~,cil ors their project. Upon r o11 ~aiz all aldermen present voted afire and said ordinance was declared passe. ~viesc~arnes Johr~s~on, Carlisle, ~~il~;ert, ~ltarzler, P~TcCracken and Price, represeratir~~ the tTVoman ~ s Club, appeared before the eour~cil stating that as their project they would like to landscape ar~d beautify the grounds around the underpass ar~d asked. for t;he city couz~cil.ts co-operation. It was moved by Parker and seconded by Feuerbacher the l~~~yor be authorized to appo3.~a~ a special committee to handle the mai;~er. The motion carried, Thereupon, the Mayor appoin~ed ~o11ey, Thomson and Parker. A letter f~ozn V'd. A. Tha motion carried. ~~r. Vordahl presented the matter of the ~mericaz~ Le~ioz~ Post asking that holes be made ire the sidewalk ira the business district in order to decorate for July 4th. After discussion it was moved by ~ Vorda.Ya1 and seconded by Feuerbacher the mater be referred to the Street and ,~11ey cor~imittee ZNith authority to act. The motion carried.
