Upon roll ca1~ the foll.owiz~g alderman answered present: McManus Weibe~ VUilsor~ Feuerbacher Smith Gomez Parker .The minutes of the last mee~Ging were read ar~d approved, The L~.brary report for the month of August was presented and read, Tt was moved by Wilson ar~d seconded by W~;iber that the report be approved. The mot3.or~ carried, i ~ letter from Esther Ha-~cher asking permission to use the Hall. at Riverside for a farev~el~. p~.rty for lher brother Saturday September 11th vuas presented ar~d read.. St was moved by Parker and seconded by Nic- l~ar~us ghat the request be granted. The motion carried. letter from The Machinist Union of 33i~.lir~gs asking perm3~ssion to use the Hall a~ Riverside for a dance, Sunday September 12th way presented and regd. Tt was moved by Parker and seconded by Feuerbacher that the requent be granted. The motion carried. A claim for gasoline tax refund way presented artd re&d, It was move by Parker and seconded by Comer ghat the claim b~ appraved~ The motion carried, The Police Judge t s report far the mz~~th o~ ~ugu~t way presented ar~d read. It vas moved. by Feuerbacher and seconded by Comer that ~ he report be approved. The motion carried. The report of the City ~'reasurer for the month of August was presented ar~d re~.d. Tt was moved by Parker and a~econded by Me~anu~ that the repp~~ be approved. The mo~ior~ carried. The Water Department report for the month of august way presented and read, It was moved by ~ome~ a~ad seconded b~ Weiberi that the .deport be approved, The I~otior~ carr3.ed, An Expended Covsra~e Endorsement for the Riverside Insurance Policy vas presented and read. It was moved by Smith ar~d seca~aded by .McManus that the endorsemen'~ be approved, The mot ior~ carried. Moran appeared before the Council ~o ask permission to c or~strue~ a r~ew concrete v~alk iz~ frost of the theatre. I~ was moved by Parker and seconded by~Smith that the permit begranted, The motion carried. I~ was moved by Gamer and seconde by Feuerbacher that the forms be effective as soon as possible, The motioncarried. It ~w~asrtaoved by NieManu~ and seconded by Parker that Ordinance No. 381 be a.men,ded to include how an additional tag may be purchased if forymer orae is lost, and dog must wear tag contin~al2y. The motion carried. I~ was suggested that the City spend some money on hs.~d f'or bonds, to help in; the later 33and Zrive~ which began September 9, 1.943. The ~our~c3.l r. ecommended the purchase of 1.O,000.00 of Series "G~` ~~1ar Savings Bonds, in denominations of X1,000.00 each, with money from the ~Nater Fund. after discussion it was moves by P~iclVaar~us and secor~cled by Gomer the city Clerk ar~d City Attorney be authorized to make the purchase. 1'he motion carried.
