NovembEr 21, 2944.
The City Council of Laurel mat in regular session in
the Council Chambers and was called to order by I~~a~Tor
Thomson at 7:3t) o~clock P.N. November 21, 1944.
Upon ro11 ca11 the followring Aldermen answered present

The minutes of November 8,1944 were read and approved.
request from the Laurel Rotana Club for the rents]. of the'
Ha11 at Riverside Park for ~ecerr~ber 1.6th was presented.
motion was made ay Mc~ianu~ and seconded by Wieber the re-
qusst be referred to the City Clerk. The motion cQrried.
A letter from the State Examiner statinr the Final Budget for
the fiscal year r~ad not been filed, was presented, read and
filed.
The question of purchasing doh; license tags far the year was
brau~ht before the Council and referred to the Police Com- mittee,
,A J.et~er from Lohof Brothers wras presEnted and read .and a
motion was made by Parker and seconded by Smith to refer to
the Street Committee with authority to make recorranendations
as to the conditions and correct them. The motion carried.
NIa~or Thomson reported the floor in the dance Ha11 at River-
side Park was in bad cor~d3.tion and needed ~andin~ and that
present heating equ3.pment was inedaquate, Snasmach as consid-
erable revenue was expected from the building he recommended
the floor be put in repair and a heater purchased.
motion was. made by Smith ~.nd .seconded by TlcNanus to refer to the Park Committee fbr action. The motion harried.
Mr. C.V~. Laird appeared bei'ore the Counc~.1 with cheeks in
the am@unt of SC~.~(7 donations from various cit3.zens which
completes the purchase price of the Laurel Cemetery.

donations be accepted as lifts b~ the Git~ aid that a
Re~alut3.on to increas the Eiud~;et at our next meeting be pub-
lished in the current-issue of the Laurel Outlook. The
motion carried.

Resolution No. 6].5.
Resolution ~To. 615, being a resolution declaring an emergency
exits requiring additional expenditures from the General
Fund and directing directing pu~lica~ion of a public hearing
wau presented and read. It vas moved by Parker and seconded
by Wieber Reso7.ution No.615 be passed and adopted. Upon
roll. call a1.1 Aldermen present voted aye and said Resolution
was declared passed.
Ordinance No, 385.
Ordinance No. 385, being an ordinance authorizing the City
off' Laurel to acquire by purchase, the Laurel Gemeter~ way
presented and read,Tt was moved by Parker and seconded bg McN~anus Ordinance ~o. 385 be ps~sed on the First reading.
Upon. roll ca1J. all Aldermen p~~~~n~x~oted aye and said
Ordir~anc~ was declared passed on the First reading,
