~ The City council of the Gity of Laurel met in special session in the Coune3.1
hambera in the City Hall at 7:30 o tclock P . Vii. ~ Noonday, ~cpteamber 23, 1946
'his being the time for canvassing the returns of the Special Gas Franchise
election of the Bi113.ngs Gas company held in the City of Laurel on September
18th, 1946, and pursuant to t~.~ requirements of the RQVis~d Codes of the S ate
of Montana, the City Council met as a canvass3.ng board for the purpose of canvassing the returna of the special Gay Franchisd Election, with Henry E.
Gower, president of the Council' presiding.
Upon roll call the following aldermen ataswered present;

The Tellers homing opened and canvassed the said returns, reported as
follows:

Montana, grant to ~illir.~s Gas company, a Montana Corporation, its
successors and assigns, a franchise for the construction, maintenance
and operation of a gas distr~hbuting plant or s~rstem in the city of
Laurel, as now. or hereafter constituted, fora term of ~~~~~y-two ~~2) years and fixing and prescribing; the conditions and terms thereof,
pursuant t o the application of the said 33illin~s Gas Company now on
file in the office of the city clerk of said city of Laurel?"

It was moved by .~ldermara Parker and seconded by 1~lderman Fcucrbachtr that the report of the Te1l.ers be adopted. Upon ro11 ca11 all aldermen
pre3ent voted ".~1,y8~ and the motion way declared passed.
RESOLUTION Nti. 643
~ resolution declaring that the application of the ~illin~~ Gas Gompan~r Por a Gas Franchise as submitted at the ~pec3al Gas ~'ranchi~e Election held
in the pity of Laurel on ~ept~ember 18th, 1946, was presented and read, It
was moved by Parlor and seconded by smith that Resolution No. 643 b~ provisionally
passed.. Upon roll ~aii air. a~lderrnen preset voted aye and said resolution was
declared provisionally passed.
Mr. ~u~ust Met~Cger appeared before the Council in regard to brining a
trailer house into the City and parking it on his property, on Sixth avenue,
for a family to live in. Tt vas moved by kodg~rs and seconded by Feucrbacher
the trailer be allowed ~o be put on h~Ir. Nletzgerts lots, and water billed to the
occupants of same. ThG motion carried.

read." Tt was ~~oved by ~lilson and seconded by Rodgers, the mrF,tter be referred
to the Police committee. The motion carried,
An application for a permit, by Howard Holland, to move ire a frame .house
20x30 feet, in sections by truck, and place on concrete foundation ors lots Z & ~1oc~ 9, Laurel Nutting subdivision, and at an a~proxirnate cost of ~2G00
was presented and read. It was moved by Rodgers and seconded by ~''euerbacher
the permit be granted. Thy motion carr3.ed.
An applica~Gion far a permit, by Perry B. Marvin, to move a house 24x24 feet
into town from the North, dov~~n First ~,v~nue and burn west on Sixth Strict to Fifth t~venue, thin to lots 7 8c 8, Block 5, Laurel Heights, Subdivision. To be
moved on rubber and placed on concrete foundation, at an approximate cost of
~150~, was presented and read. It was moved by Kodgera and seconded by Parl~ r
the permit be granted. Z'h~ motion carried.
It was moved by fold and seconded by Filson the City attorney pr~par~ a
petition to circulate among the people along the two blocks of Fain Strut to
have improvements.. on the gutter on the North. Fide of the strut, and at a cost
not. to exceed ~P15.U0 per lot. The motion carried.
It was moved and seconded we do now ~d~ourn. Thy motion carried.
