M. Ju1.y 2nd , 1946 . Upon roll call the following aldermen ansvrered presents ~lilaon kodgers Parker (~omar emit h ~`o3.d The minutes of the 1~z~~ ~peeial meeting were read, and it wQS moved by Comer end seconded by Smith, tha minutes be approved as read. The motion carried. This being the time sct far receivir~ bids for ~..mprovements of 1.72Q linear feat of pipe along sixth AVenue, the City ~1erk presented proof of publlcatio~t in the Laur~1 O~tloak and was instructed to open and re~.d all bids. Bids were rcce3.vec~ from the Utility Builders, Great Fa11~, For ~3371.0~, and from Barry O~Leary, B311 ngs, for $2236. 0. I~ sae moved by Parkes' ami seconded by GomeY' that tha matter be referred to the Finance and Sewer Committees. The motion carried, and the members of the Finance and Viewer Comm3ttecs recessed to study the bids, and rego,rt back to the Cotancil with their decision. I~ v~a~ moved by Parker and seconded by Rodgers the bid of harry (?TLear~r 'be accepted, The motion carried. It vas moved by Parker and seconded by homer that the check from Utility Builder9 be returned. Tho motion carried, fir, Jamey Rollman, of 61? 5th ,~vonu~, appeared before the Council in regard to trouble with the rawer in that part of the street, backing up and filling ri.i~ basement.. It was moved by Parker and seconded by Rodgers that the City ~:n~it~eer end the Sewer Committee have authority to atud~r the matter and make the necessary corrections if the City is at fault, The motion carried. dir. C. E. ~icKenney appeared beforo the Council in regard to leasing the Cabins at Riverside Park. It eras moved by Comer and seconded by Smith that dir. ~cK~nep be allowed to .ease the cabins ar~d it be turned over to the Park Committee to work out details of the eandition~ and berm of lease with &ir. ~cKenneg. the mot ion carried, ~Ir. l~, B. HarJ.an, Mr. John Rybin, fir. Jack Johnson and Mr. Ftanck appeared before the Coancil in regard to extending the sewer to include their propcr~ies. The ~'ir~ance Comm3.~tee reported to the Council on the application of the ~otar Transit Co., for bus space on the.- E~t~t Side of VAUghn & Ragsdale. ~.e report stated that t~i.ey had leased 35 feet of space to the bud Gompan~ a~ a cost of X2.00 per foot per year. ~4 ehe~k in the amount o~.~ X70 for owe year's lease was turned over to the City Treasurer. The Fin~nee Committee reported that theg ~vouZd be unab3e to fu11y n~~re the Fire truck. unt it it had met Frith the approval of the Fira Underv~ri~ers.
