N~, o+clock March 19th, 1946. UQon roll call the following aldermen answered present: Feuerbacher darker Uomer Rodgers Wieber Mold The min,_ates of the last meeting were read and it was moved by ~'arker and seconded by ~'euerbahher they be approved as read. `i'he motion carried. Nr. .I~er~ry Robertus appeared before the council requesting that he be allowed to extend the pity water line to his property outside the City limits, on the Southwest part of town. l~ vas moved by ~ar~:er and seconded by ~lieber the matter be referred to the Viater Committee. The motion carried. I~'Ir. Julian F. Glenr~ey appeared before tie council requesting that he be allowed ~o extend his private water line, connecting with the present water line on Sixt~h~~~,Q , to his property on lots Z9 8c 28, Block 5, Laurel rack subdivision, o~r th aAven~e~ at Yiis otivn expense. It was moved by Parker and seconded b;r noc~~ers, iGar. Glenney be granted permission to put in such a line. The mot ion carried. fVlr. Paul Gabel, chairr~lan of special Irr_provement '~istrict No.71, known as the South amide Sewer, appeared before the couacil in regard to ~;ettir~~ priorities f'or tY~.e property ownars in order that t'r:ef might ~;et the necessar~r ~:~aterials, and fixtures to connect with said sewer. Tt was moved by ~'arker and seconded by kod~ers that the Gity write t~ ~'ir. H. B. ~''oote at Helena, and try to secure a special blanket priority to enable the people to receive the necessary fixtures grad r~ateri~l. ~:'he z~.~otipn carried. Mr. Ben Gum and Pi!r. Glenn Lewis appeared before the caur~cil in regard to leasing tYie cabins, bathhouse, ar~c~ house of the caretaker at ktiverside ~ark~ to be converted into Tourist cabins, and possibly a Trailer Camp. It was moved by homer ar~d seconded by darker that the matter be referred to the Park Committee for c~nsiderati~n. The rnc~tion carried. i An application f'or a permit, by W. E. I~'~ci3aniel, to erect G house 14x2 feet from a Government granary moved from I~1o1t, to lot 1~3, Block 5, Laurel Your;g~s Second Subdivision, to be placed on concrete blocks, and to cost approximately ~SGG was read. It was moved by comer ar~d seconded by F'euerbacher the permit be granted. 7'he mot 3.on carried. A letter f'rcn~ the Mate Highway ~'oramission accepting the terms for a lease on a wei~hin~ station site was presented and read. A. nigney which reads as follows wag presented: ~ The Honora~le T~iayor and CityT council Ii Gentlemenc Tt has come ~o my attention that you might hive some dif~'iculty in securing a City Engineer, so long as the resolution giving me a leave of absence is on file. I had intended to clear up that situation wrile there in November but becam ill with a cold, and had to leave without seeing you main. P1ea~e accept this letter as my ~esi~nation. I think this will enable you to make an agreement with Tyr. Eyer. The mayor appointed a committee of Wo1d, Gomer and Kodgers, to mAeet vaith the County commissioners in regard to the City purchasing the 43 Tax title County lots on this proposed sewer lot. report the Viewer Committee and the City Engineer on the openin;,r of the sewer line on Block 7 Youngs second Subdivision was presented and read. it way moved ray Parker end seconded by F~odgers that tree Committee and Tn~;3.neer hive authority to act on this matter. `1'he rr~otion carried. letter from. Alsa ~ettin~; information in the l~ca1. newspaper to familiarize the voters with the proposed Initiative. The Sewer ~orr~nittee returned a verbal report on ~~r. This aF>plication was to ~e held until at'ter the Sewage Lisposal Plant was in vvorkin~ operation, ar~d ~.ad been operating; fora long enough period of tirr~e, to check and verify the possible number of users it would be capable of handli~ag, satisfactorily.
