The City Council of the pity of Laurel met in the council chamber in
regtalar session, Tuesday December 16th, 1947, at 8:30 o~elock P. M. In the temporary absence of the Mayor, J. Parker, president of the council presided.
and called the meeting to order. The Mayor appeared at 8,50 o~clock and took
over the remaining proceediza~s of the meeting.
Upon roll call the following aldermen answered. present.'

The minutes of the last meeting were read. It was moved and seconded the
minta~ss be .approved as read. lk~e motion carried.
delegation consisting of ~N. gaff, George Pai~~ey and k. Packard
representing the ~'meric€~n Legion Post X123 were present at the meeting. Mr.
F. t~1. `gaff, as spokesman of the delEg~tion, appeared before the Council in
regard to securing a lease f er the building at Ritrerside nark, which. the Legion
is now using.
It was ma~~ed by Tubman and seconded by Y~~old that the m8t ion of l~ovember 18th,
3.nsertin~ a 30-day ~ermin~tion clause by either party, ~n the re-written leases,
be rescinded. The motion carried.
It was moved by ranker and seconded by Freebary teat the motion oP December
2nd, regarding "reservation to sell" clause submitted to the various dubs for their consideration, be rescinded. TYae moti.an carri.ee7.

a 10-year lease on the building; at Riverside 'ark. The motion carried.
't'he Street committee reported that after a careful s tudy of the matter,,
they hnd ~~.ven tre Laurel Co-op hssaciation permission to place 2 pumps on the outisde of the building, on th.e West side, as they had requested.
`1'he ~tr~et committee have an oral report on t h~; muter of oil on the sidewalk
nn the south side of the Bice G~r.~~e. `l~hey reported thes,- could find no evidence
of such matter, anc~ promised to investigate again, a~ a later date.
The Perk ~ommit~Gee submitted an oral report, statin~;th~t they had contacted Dir. hdam ~che~:ler in regard to ~;as used by him, and a figure of ~7 per month
was arrived at, as long as the pity's monthly bill is ~t its present level.
The I~elath officer+s report, together with the report cif the ~antan~ Livestoc
San~i~afty Bard report for the month. of December was presented. It was moved by
Parker and seconded by smith that the reports be approved. The motion carried.
1'he Water Department report for the month of November vas presented. It
way moved by told and seconded by t~euerbacrer the report be approved. The motion
carried.

ORDINANCE N0. 4~4
~n ordinance amending ~rdin~nce 1`+0. 402, fixing; rates and charges far the
use and service of the Sewage llisposal `lint waa presented for final passage.
It was moved b~Freebury and seconded by ~'euerbacher Ordinance No. 404 be finally passed and adopted. Lzpon ro11 ca 11 a 11 aldermen present voted "ayes' and said
ordinance was ddclared finally passed end adopted.
It was moved by ~t~old and seccnded by t'reebury that Charles Sande's letter
of Lecember 3rd be tabled until th.e next meeting. 'l'he motion carried.
An application for a perr~~it by lra But3.er to move a house sire 10x14 from
Lots 16 & 2 15, "lack 11, Yellowstone ~'ub., to Lots 7 & 8, B~.ock 5, Yellowstone
Sub., to be moved on tubber tires, t o be pI~ ced on concrete blocks, no f'ooti.n~s,
was presented. It was moved by Feuerbahcer end seconded by ~l~ubman, that the

permit be granted if 141r. butler puts in concrete footing for the blccks. `t'he
motion carriee~.
An application for membership with ~Ghe Laurel t'ire Department by '~ot~ald
Scheidecker was submitted for approv€~1 by the Council. It was moved by ranker
and seconded by smith the applica~~on be accepted. `I'he motion carried.
The City Cler~k~s report far the month of November was presented. It was
moved by jlod~erg and seconded by reuerbacher the report be approved. The motion carried.
Mr. ~'aul ~YOld, Chairman af` the eater `'or.~mittee, presented and reported on
a new eater contract to be submit tea to the Northerta PaciP~c HaiZway. Yt was
move~3 b;y smith and seconded by `i'ubman, the new con`ract be approved by the City.
The motion carried.
