~~~he pity council of the Gi~y of Laurel met in regular session in the Council chamber and was ea~.led tc order by ~~ayor Thomson at 7:3~ O~clock P. M.
`~uesday December 2nd, 194'7,
Upon roll ca11 the following aldermen answered present:

The minutes of the ZasL meeting were read, It was moved by Wo1d and
seconded bg ~od~ers tre minutes be a~prove~i. ~1`he r~otian carries'.
Tt was moved by darker and seconded by Uomer that a "reservation to 881~.~r
clause be submitted t c the various clubs having leases at Riverside Park for
their ap~r oval and su~;gestio~naa and the Fight of eance11at3_on in case of their
failure to perform the agreea~~~#s of the lea sea. ~lhe motion carried.
Mr. t~aro.ld 11ichardson appeared before the council in regard to pl~cin
two pumps on the Y~est Side of the building on R~a3_n ~trPet, in the boulevard. It vas moved by Parker and seconded b~ Smith ~h.e matter be referred to the
Street and 1~l~ey Committee with authority to act. the motion c arrie~..
letter from Charles Sande read at the last ~oF-veil meeting, was re-read
and the let ter writ ten in reply, ~aa s also read . It was moved by Smith and
seconded by ~''euerbacher the Zetter be accepted, and written t o Mr. Sande. ~lhe
motion carried.
A claim for refund of X50 for gasoline tax was presented. It was moved
by Freeburg end seconded by Feuerbacher the refund be approved. The motion
carried.
The library report for the month of November wag presented. It was moved by Smith and seconded by comer the report be approved. the motion carried.
The Police ~P~icers reports for the month of November were presented. It
was moved by ~'arker and seconded by ~'suerbacher the reports be approved ~j'he
motion c arried.
The Police Jl~dge ~ s report far the month of rlovember was presented and read. It was moved by Feuerbacher and seconded by Smith the report be approved.
The motion carried.

be accepted. the motion carried.
An agreez~ent for outside City Lim~.ts sewer contract signed by VBilliam
Barnett way presented. It was moved b~ nodgers and seconded by F'euerbacher the
application be accepted. The motion carried.
~'n agreement for outside City Limits sewer contract far connections of
5 houses signed by Mrs. Christina peck was presented. It was rrioved by dodgers
and seconded by F'eueflbacher the application be accepted. The motion carried,

presented. It was moved by reuerbacher grad seconded by ~`ubman ~Ghe permit be
granted, mho motion carried.
~ A letter from the Lauren mod and Gun `'lub, requesting permission to use
the City Gas at the Fark was presented. ~t was 'roved by Parker and ~econdec~ by~
~`~o1.d, permission be granted, on the recommen~~~ion of the Park ~omm.ittee. ~ls_ o,J
that the Park committee contact madam "'cheeler in regard to gas being used by
him. The motion ear•ried.
letter from ruhrmei9ter and 1~Ticholas regarding stock companies, vuas read in part. It was moved b~ 1lVo1d ar~dsec`andea by Smi~Gh the letter be referred
to the President of the Commercial club. l~he motion carried.
I 2'he bills of the month of November were ref erred to the Finance ~ommit~ee
and after due consideration tihe ec~mmittee reported back recommendin~° the payment

The matter of pools of oil standing on the sidewalk an the Sout side of
the Bice garage was referreF~ to the Street Committee for action.
