`l~he pity Council of the Gity of Laurel, met in r e~u1~:r session in the
~%ounc3l Chamber and was celled to order at 7;30 ~tclock P. M. by Mayor Thomson.
Upon ro11 call the following aldermen ansvuered present.

2'he minutes of the last regular meeting were read c.nd a motion was made
b~ Wold az~d seconded by Feuerbacher the minutes ~e approved with the exception
of emotion regarding ditch digging machinery, v~hich was recal~.ed for further
study. ~'ri.e motion carried.
Z'he Mayor stated that this being the first meeting of the new council
nominations were now in order f'or a President of the Council for the ensuing term.
J, J~ ranker was nominated by Mr. Pa u1. fold and the nominationw as seconded
by dir. lra Rodgers motion was made by nitM and seconded by ~1old the
nominations be closed. `1'he motion carried, and Mr. J~. J. 1~arker was declared
elected ~y acclimation.

appointed for a ~a~ebal~. Committee; whereupon the Mayor appointed Paul Wo1d and.

presented proof of publication in the Laurel Qutlook. ~ bid in the amount of
~1.5~ for lots 1.6 & 17, dock 30, tillard "ubdivision w as made by Ly~,~ Rodgers.
bid in the amount of X225 for lots 18, 19 & 20, ~1ock 30, was made by Edward
A~artian~, b~.d ~,n the amoum~ of X50 by John H. Kel1.y for lots 19 & 20, a nd a
bid by ~hcessler in the amount of X179 fbr all 5 lots were opened. It was

~~~he City ~'ngineer stated that ~.e would need an additional 6 Fire ~~drants
at a coat of X135,95 each, for the t' end of down, Tt rroas moved by F"reebury and seconded by Feuerbacher that the Engineer have authority to order the raeeessar
fire hydrants for the protect ion of property in the ~~e s t end of town . Fjhe mot ion
carried.
Zihe Cit~r En~3,neer made a report on the recommendations of tY~e many towns on
the neces~~ty of ~omminutors to be used at the ''ewage ~tsposal i'1ant, 3.n place of the wire screens which are planned f'or the present. No action vas taken,
