A quorum (3 or more) present, the following action was taken
by the Committee:
Walt Menello gave a comparison of the current United of Omaha
policy and the proposed Blue Cross/Blue Shield policy. There
were several advantages that United of Omaha had over the
proposed Blue Cross/Blue Shield policy. However, the premium is
about 3% higher.
The Committee reviewed a letter from United of Omaha stating
that the current premium will remain the same until February l,
1991, at which time United of Omaha will notify the City of any
possible increase.
United of Omaha has given the City excellent service and there
is reluctance by the Committee to make any change at this time.
Also, the premium would be higher for 2 retirees on a Blue Cross/
Blue Shield policy.
After a lengthy discussion there was a motion by Bob Graham,
seconded by Don N~lson to continue our current policy with United
of Omaha until February 1, 1991 and review the health insurance
program again at that time.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:25 p.m.
