OTHERS PRESENT:
Chairman- Chuck Dickerson

Mike Zuhoski Andy Loebe
Brad Krause Chuck Rodgers
Mick DiFronzo, Consultant
The purpose of this meeting is to open health insurance bids.
Mick DiFronzo, insurance consultant, spoke to the committee
regarding his services. He works mainly in the employee benefits
area. He is a licensed consultant as well as a commissioned agent.
In the State of Montana, one may act as an agent or consultant but
not both. He did not submit a bid.
John Maze, Union Representative for the City and County employees
referred Mick to the city to see if they needed any assistance in
obtaining health insurance.
Mr. DiFronzo would analyze the bids and help in determining the
best bid and try to get the best buy for the money spent.
His fee is $75.00 an hour. An estimate for reviewing current
benefits, compiling data and information, and preparing analysis
and reporting would be 10 hours and aZ the very most 20 hours. The
Union would possibly pay for part of the fee.
Lonnie suggested that we consider the 2 or 3 low bids and then call
in the agent to give a synopsis of their plan.
It was the consensus of the committee at this time that we would
not need a consultant. We will wait until the bids are opened and
then determine where to go.
Seven bids were received as follows:
Big Horn Management Co.- John Alden Life Insurance Co.
Allan J. Smetana, Metropolitan Life- John Alden Life Insurance Co.
Frank Dupree- Phoenix Home Life Insurance Co.
Bill Akers, Mutual of Omaha- Mutual of Omaha Companies
Yellowstone Community Health Plan
Mc~enry Insurance- John Alden Life Insurance Co.
Dave Allen, Hoffman Associates- Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Montana
Ail bids received were opened and reviewed.
After a lengthy discussion there was a motion by Mike Zuhoski,
seconded by Andy Loebe, to contact Big Horn Management Co.,
Metropolitan Life, and McHenry Insurance to give presentations of
their proposals. Motion carried with Lonnie Kellogg abstaining.
Don will contact the insurance agents to attend the next Insurance
