DPW CONFERENCE ROOM
The Tree Board met on March 5*, 2009, to discuss plans for the Arbor Day celebration.
Mr. Fred Bicha, Forester for the DNRC,was also in attendance.
It was determined that the Volunteer Firemen who have been invited to participate in the
planting of the Easton Memorial Tree would like it to be a Colorado Blue Spruce. This will go in
Firemen's Park, along with a memorial plaque, on Wednesday, April 15'`, at 6:00 PM. This will
be advertised in the Laurel Outlook.
Emelie Eaton has been working toward a grant for Riverside Park, especially in regard to care
for the historic cottonwood trees. When Mr. Bicha heard that the Lion's Club has $6000 in cash
and the pipe to water their park, he suggested incorporating both Riverside and Lion's Park in the
application for the grant. This was agreed upon.
The meeting adjourned with an early April meeting planned.
