The pity council of the City of ~'aurel met in r egular session in the
Council Chambers end was called t o order by Mayor Thomson at 7::.30 0' clock F. M.
Tuesday, October 3rd, 1950.
Upon roll call the following aldermen answered present

~'z'eebur'y McCormick
~j~he minutes of the lastmeeting were read. Tt was moved by McManus and seconded by Romee the minutes be approved. The motion carried.
~~~his being; the time t'or opening bids for T. D. #73, Alley Paving,
the clerk presented proof' of ~ub].ication in ith.e Laurel Outlook, and way instructed
to ;open and read all bids. One bid wrap received from Barry O~Leary in the
amount of ~6190.1.~.0. Tt was moved by ~''reebur~ and seconded by Homee the bid be
re-:je cted. The motion carried.
It was moved by Freeburg and seconded by Homee the Bond of Indemnity be
returned to Of Lear y, thanking him for his bid. The motion carried.
Mrs. Edna Chapman appeared before the Council and explained to the Council
what was being done at the Libary, and st~tin~ that it would be open shortly. 5hQ also requested that the City prepare a letter of than?~~: and a~pr~eciation
for Mrs. Carrie Erb, for her many years of faithful service and devotion to
her duties as Librarian, and requesting; that she turn over all properties
that might be in her possession belonging to the Libr~.ry. She stated that the
salary of the present Librarian, Miss Frances Fenton, would be $~75 per month.
Tt was moved by j~ubman and seconded by Mc~anus the request of the Library hoard be accepted. The motion carried.

The report of the Police Judge for the monti9r of September was presented.
It was moved by ~+ubman and seconded by t"'euerbache~ the report be approved. the motion carried.
The Policemenf s report for the month of September were presented. T~ was
moved b°~ Tubman andseconded by McN~anus the reports be approved. The moti on
carried.
,A,n application f'or a permit by Emanuel Frank to build a garage 22x24 on
concrete foundation, new and used material, on Lots Il & 72 , F31oek c1 , Yellowstone
Subdivision at an approximate cost of X1,040 was presented. It was moved by
Feuerbacher and seconded by McManus the permit be granted. The motion carried.
An applicaticon for a permit by Deno nary to build an addition 8x20 on
present dwelling, on concretQ foundation, new materials on Lots 13, 14 & l~, Block 10, Lam el healty Subdivision, at an approximate cost of 350 vuas presented.
Tt was moved by P~Ic~anus and seconded b~ ~omee the permit be granted. ~'he motion
carried.
An application for a pErmit by pack ~'ederson to build a 36x 0 frame house,
on concrete fouxr~ anon, of new and used lumber on Lois 3 & Block 33, A11ard

Romee and seconded by ~eu~rbacher the permit be granted. The motion.. c arried.

to present dwelling, made frorl concrete, on Lot 18, Block 11, Laurel Heights at
an app~oxirn~te cost of ~6~.0~ was presented. It .was roved by jubman and
